Renewal agreement: Effective July 11, 2023 to July 10, 2026. Signed on Sept. 7, 2023.

Shift premium: $3 per hour while performing lead-hand duties.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 11 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years.

Overtime: Overtime rates will apply on each hour worked beyond 44 hours in 7-day period. Overtime rates will apply on each hour worked beyond 8 hours in 1 day (for work schedules other than compressed work weeks).

Pension: Clean Harbors Retirement Savings Program after 3 months of continuous service. Employer contributions will be vested after 2 years of participation in plan.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, parent, domestic partner’s parent, child, sibling, child (including foster-, stepparent), brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law. 1 day to attend funeral of grandparent (including foster-, stepgrandparent), grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 2 extra days, unpaid, for travelling purposes for employees who must travel to attend funeral of family member beyond 500 kilometres from place of employment.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff and excluding absences due to medical conditions.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ work or pay in lieu thereof at regular hourly rate (will not apply to employees who are called in for work and work into regularly scheduled shift).

Probationary period: 150 calendar days.

Safety shoes: $200 per year (previously $150 per year).
