Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022. Signed on April 1, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2019: 2%
Effective April 1, 2020: 2%
Effective April 1, 2021: 2%
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 4 weeks to start, 8 weeks after 1 year. After 2 years of service, employee may request carryover, maximum 10 days of unused vacation days, to be used in subsequent year.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Manulife Financial insurance plan and 100% of premiums for extended health benefit plan.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 100% of costs for plan A; 80% of costs for plan B; 50%, maximum of $3,500.00 per person who before age 18 begins orthodontic treatment for plan C.
Paramedical: $400 per year, maximum per insured, for registered psychologists.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 3 times employee’s annual salary.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 3 times employee’s annual salary.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law). Additional 3 days will be given should circumstance of death warrant additional time.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after layoff.
Probationary period: 1 year from date of appointment.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for documents of disciplinary nature.
Severance: 1 month’s current pay for each year of seniority, rounded upward to nearest year, maximum 6 months’ salary and 1 additional month’s current pay for each additional 5 years of seniority, rounded upward to nearest year, maximum 4 months’ salary.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide smocks, laboratory coats, coveralls when employee’s clothes may be soiled due to work situation. When work is to be performed outdoors in inclement weather rainwear, parkas, gloves will also be made available. When protective eyewear is required, employer will provide protective eyewear.
Mileage: $0.48 per kilometre (previously $0.46 per kilometre) when employee uses own car for employer business.

Editor’s notes: Relocation expenses for new employee: Employer will reimburse new regular employee for out-of-pocket expenses, maximum $5,000, for expenses incurred in relocating to college region from within B.C. and maximum $6,000 for expenses incurred in relocating to college from outside B.C.. Employer-initiated relocation for existing employees: Employer will reimburse employee for out-of-pocket expenses, maximum $3,000, when employee is asked to relocate within college region. Accommodation: Employees will be reimbursed for actual costs of hotels or $35 per day while traveling on employer business. Meal allowances: $10.56 per day for breakfast (previously $10.25 per day); $13.20 per day for lunch (previously $12.81 per day); $23.23 per day for dinner (previously $22.55 per day); maximum $46.99 total daily (previously $45.61 total daily), while traveling on employer business.
