Renewal agreement: Effective June 22, 2025 to April 30, 2029; signed June 18, 2025
Paid holidays: New Year's Day, Alberta Family Day, Labour Day, Good Friday, Thanksgiving Day, Victoria Day, Christmas Day, Canada Day, Boxing Day, Truth and Reconciliation Day, Heritage Day, Remembrance Day
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks each year
Overtime: 1.5 times base rate of pay for overtime hours worked on a weekday; 1.5 times base rate of pay for the first 8 hours worked on Saturday; 2 times base rate of pay for overtime worked on a Saturday outside 8 hours and Sunday or "General Holiday"
Shift work: Basic hourly rate plus $4.00; adjusted to $4.50 per hour as of May 3, 2026
Employee benefits: Health and Wellness Trust Fund, Pension Trust Fund
Uniforms/clothing: Coveralls and laundering provided
Meal reimbursement: Provided after daily hours in excess of 11
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
- Group 1, including 2nd Class Steam Engineer: $44.91 rising in 3 steps to $48.12
- 4th Class Steam Engineer: $41.32 rising in 3 steps to $44.27
- Group 3, including Firefighter: $40.15 rising in 3 steps to $43.02
