Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2025 to Oct. 31, 2028. Signed on Oct. 29, 2025.
Shift premium: $3 per hour if employer requires employee to use personal vehicle as shelter.
Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Family Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Remembrance Day (after 2 years of seniority)
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year; 3 weeks after 5 years; 4 weeks after 10 years; 5 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Hours worked by an employee in excess of forty-four (44) hours in a week shall be paid at a rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular hourly wage. All hours worked in excess of twelve (12) hours shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular hourly wage
Medical benefits: Employer remits hourly rate of $0.78 as of Nov. 1, 2025; $0.79 as of Nov. 1, 2026; $0.80 as of Nov. 1, 2027.
Sick leave: 4 days per year with pay after 1 year; five days per year after 5 years
Pension: Employer contributes 1% of employee’s total earnings and 2% of total earnings of employees’ with 10 years or more of service to the Steelworkers Members’ Pension Benefit Plan (Plan).
Bereavement leave: 3 days with pay.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at regularly hourly rate of pay.
Probationary period: 90 days
Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months.
Severance: Two weeks’ pay per year of completed seniority to maximum of 26 weeks’ pay.
Safety shoes: $200 for guard footwear; $120 for safety boots/shoes.
Uniforms/clothing: Appropriate uniform items, outdoor gear, maternity clothing.
Mileage: $0.36 per kilometre, minus 80 kilometres per round trip
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
- Minimum basic wage: Start Rate $18.50
- After 1 year of Employment $19.00
- After 2 years of Employment $19.50
