Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023. Ratified in March 2021. Signed on April 1, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2020: 1%

Effective April 1, 2021: 2.8%

Effective April 1, 2022: 1%
Paid holidays: 12 days including 1 float day. After 30 years of service, full-time employees receive 1 additional float day per year.

Vacations with pay: 15 days after 1 year (up to 7 days may be used after 6 months of continuous employment), 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 12 years, 30 days after 20 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked in excess of regularly scheduled hours of work over 2-week average for full-time employees. Time and one-half for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week for part-time employees. Time and one-half for all hours worked on paid holiday. 2.5 times regular rate for part-time workers.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of ODA schedule of fees. Lifetime maximum of $1,250 per child for orthodontics and major restorative. Lifetime maximum of $1,250 per adult for major restorative. Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums for part-time employees.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $175 for glasses or cosmetic contact lenses every 24 months. $1,000 for medically necessary contact lenses per year. $90 (previously $80) every 24 months for eye examinations.

Paramedical: $1,100 per year for massage, chiropractic, and naturopath.

Sick leave: 1.5 days per month of active employment up to 18 days total accumulation for full-time employees; 3.5 hours per month up to 100 hours total accumulation for part-time employees.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for group insurance plan for coverage of double employee’s annual earnings up to $145,000 for full-time employees. Coverage of $20,000 for part-time employees.

Pension: Multi-Sector Pension Plan (MSPP). Employees contribute amount equal to 3.75% of wages and employer contributes equal amount.

Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex spouse, child. 3 paid days for death of parent, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, parent-in-law, sibling-in-law, grandparent-in-law. 1 paid day for out-of-town funeral of relative or friend. One half-day for in-town funeral of relative or friend.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at regular rate.

Probationary period: 90 shifts or 1 year, whichever comes first. May be extended up to 65 days upon mutual agreement.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months; 60 months for discipline involving inappropriate interaction with person who employer supports.

Mileage: $0.46 per kilometre for employees who use automobile on behalf of employer when authorized.

Support worker/ECE support worker, teacher: $24.78/$27.03 rising in 1 step to $25.02/$27.29

Program assistant awake night: $21.52/$23.38 rising in 1 step to $21.73/$23.61

Relief staff (sleep night): $18.94/$19.37 rising in 1 step to $19.12/$19.56

Secretary 1: $20.90/$22.70 rising in 1 step to $21.10/$22.92

Secretary 2: $21.52/$23.38 rising in 1 step to $21.73/$23.61

Driver: $18.47/$20.02 rising in 1 step to $18.65/$20.22

Janitor: $15.38/$15.75 rising in 1 step to $15.53/$15.90

Housekeeper/cook: $19.77/$20.32 rising in 1 step to $19.96/$20.52

Editor’s notes: Hearing aids: $1,000 every 3 years. Vehicle cleaning: Employer will pay for cost of interior cleaning of any area of employee’s car which is soiled by person receiving service (may include sudden occurrence or accumulation of dirt, odour, soil over period of time due to regular, ongoing transportation supports). Professional colleges: Where legislation requires employees to become members of college, employer will pay 50% of cost of annual membership fees, maximum $75. Employer will 100% of cost of annual membership fees for early childhood educators, maximum $150.
