Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2024. Ratified in March 2021. Signed on Oct. 21, 2021.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2021: 0.3%

Effective April 1, 2022: 0.5%

Effective April 1, 2023: 0.8%
Paid holidays: 14 days including 1 floater day for full-time employees. 9 days for part-time employees.

Vacations with pay: 1 day per month up to 10 days to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 4 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 1 additional day for every 2 additional years to maximum of 6 weeks. Part-time relief up to 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 5 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 in 1 shift and 40 in 1 week, all hours on assigned day off. Employees on sleepover shift, overnight awake shift, or community participation support who work 10 hours in 1 shift, overtime rates apply to 10-hour day, which is within 40-hour week. Time and one-half for employees who attend mandatory staff meetings or training outside of 40 hours per week.

Meal allowance: If employee is required to work extra continuous full shift as overtime, 2 free meals will be supplied during such shift in addition to overtime rates paid. 1 free meal for employees required to work 4 hours’ overtime at end of shift. Double time for employees required to work mandatory overtime immediately following completion of shift due to unavailability of any other coverage.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums of premiums for full-time employees for extended health care plan and Ontario health tax.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums of premiums for coverage of dental plan #9 or equivalent.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums of premiums for coverage of $300 every 24 months including eye exam.

Sick leave: 4.5 days after completion of probationary period and then 1.5 days per month of service, maximum 75 days or 600 hours, whichever is greater. Employee with more than 1 year of service who has exhausted credits and who is off sick for 10 or more consecutive days, will be allowed extension to maximum of 10 working days. Upon their return, employee will repay extension at rate of 1.5 days per month. If employee dies, value of one-half of accrued credits will be paid to employee’s designated beneficiary. Upon retirement at 55 years old or older, one-half of credits will be paid at rate of pay.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums of premiums for coverage of 70% of salary up to $4,000 per month to age 65 less 119-day qualifying period.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums of premiums for coverage of last 2 years’ salary rounded to nearest $1,000.

Pension: Multi-Sector Pension Plan (MSPP): Each eligible employee contributes amount equal to 3% (increasing to 3.25% on April 1, 2023) of applicable wages and employer contributes amount equal to 4.75%.

Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, parent, common-law parent, stepparent. May be granted flexibility to distribute bereavement leave over 2 occasions to accommodate future funeral/memorial service. 3 paid days for death of parent-in-law, grandparent, stepgrandparent, great-grandparent, spouse’s grandparent, spouse’s great-grandparent, grandchild, stepgrandchild, spouse’s grandchild, sibling, stepsibling, sibling-in-law, child-in-law, niece, nephew, person supported by host family program currently living in home. 1 paid day for death of aunt, uncle. Where burial occurs outside province, up to 7 unpaid days for reasonable travel.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for layoffs; 120 calendar days for relief part time employees.

Probationary period: 500 hours worked.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for letters of reprimand, suspension or any written or verbal warnings, other correspondence that employee believes is detrimental; 18 months for letters of expectation and notes to file that are non-disciplinary. For employees on unpaid leave of absence time is suspended until return and not considered to be part of 18 months.

Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre for employee using own automobile for employer’s business (parking charges to be paid by employer).
