Renewal agreement: Effective Oct, 1, 2015, to Sept. 30, 2019. Signed on May 31, 2016.

Wage adjustments: 
Effective Oct. 1, 2015: 1.9%
Effective Oct. 1, 2016: 2.2%
Effective Oct. 1, 2017: 1.8%
Effective Oct. 1, 2018: 1.8%

Shift premium: $0.30 per hour for work between 3 p.m. and midnight (previously $0.20 per hour). $0.75 for work between midnight and 7 a.m. (previously $0.50 per hour).

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years. 

Overtime: Time and one-half after 8 hours, double time after 12 hours. Time and one-half for work on sixth, seventh days for 5-day, 6.5-hour shift workers.

Meal allowance: One meal provided costing employee $2.50 for shifts longer than 5 hours (previously $2).

Medical benefits: 100% premiums covered by employer. Natural formulary drugs: $2,500 per year maximum, $100,000 lifetime. $500 per employee, family member, lifetime for anti-smoking agents.

Dental: 100% premiums covered by employer. Major restorative: 50% coverage, $1,500 maximum per year.

Vision: $300 per 24 months for employee, family members (previously $250 per 24 months).

Paramedical: Psychologist: $1,000 per year. Chiropractor: $200 per year. Naturopath: $200 per year. Podiatrist/chiropodist: $200 per year. Dietician: $200 per year. Speech therapist: $200 per year. Physiotherapy: $200 per year. Osteopaths: $200 per year. Massage: $200 per year. 

Sick leave: 6 paid days per 12 months. 50% unused sick time, maximum 2 days per year, paid out in March each year.

AD&D: 100% premiums covered by employer. $25,000 coverage.

Life insurance: 100% premiums covered by employer. $25,000 coverage. 
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, child, parent, parent-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandson, granddaughter). 2 additional days for funeral in another province or country.

Seniority – recall rights: 6 months.

Probationary period: Full-time: 3 months. Part-time/casual: 450 hours, maximum 6 months. 

Severance: 3 months employment: 1 week. 12 months' employment: 2 weeks. 2 years' employment: 3 weeks. 1 additional week for each additional year, maximum 8 weeks.

Safety shoes: $25 per year.
Uniforms/clothing: Full-time: 3 uniforms. Casual: 2 uniforms. $0.85 per shift for upkeep of employer-supplied uniforms (previously $0.75 per shift). $40 per year for worker supplying own pants.

Sample rates of pay (current, after 3.8% increase):

General help: $15.92 rising 2 steps to $16.52 (previously $14.75 rising 2 steps to $15.27) 

Sample rates of pay (current, after 3.4% increase):
Driver: $17.74 rising 2 steps to $18.34 (previously $16.50 rising 2 steps to $17.09) 
Lead hand: $1.10 in addition to their regular rate.

Editor’s notes: Training, education fund: $0.07 per employee, per hour to USW 2009 training fund. Religious observations: 2 days without pay per year for spiritual or holy days. Hearing aids: $500 every 5 years. Orthotics: $300 per year. Personal family leave: 6 days per year at employee’s discretion. Vaccinations: As condition of employment, employee must show proof of vaccination. An employee refusing to undergo vaccinations (without sufficient medical reasons) may be dismissed.
