Renewal agreement: Effective May 13, 2018 to April 30, 2022. Signed on May 17, 2018.
Shift premium: 3% per hour for employees holding class A gas-fitter ticket. 10% above minimum journeyman-rate will be minimum wage-rate for foremen. 10% per hour for all work on second shift, maximum 8hours (overtime rates will apply after 8 hours of second-shift work).
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 6% vacation pay will be paid to each employee on each pay period; 7% after 10 years of service; 9% after 20 years of service.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours, and on Saturday or Sunday. Double time for all work on holidays. Double time for all work after 16 straight hours.
Meal allowance: Employer will pay employee cost of hot meal after 10 hours of work and on each subsequent 4 hours worked thereafter.
Pension: Employer will contribute to Alberta Refrigeration Industry Pension Trust Fund.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parents, parents of spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings, children). Should more time be required, additional unpaid leave will be given.
Safety shoes: $350 every 2years for steel-toed safety boots, after 3 months of service.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply all protective clothing and safety equipment, as required. Employer will supply proper respiratory and hearing protection as required; suitable work gloves and safety glasses with UV protection. Employer will pay 100% of costs for uniforms, coveralls.
Tool allowance: If employee’s tools are lost or destroyed due to fire, flood or forcible entry of personal tool box, job box, job shack, or other secured location while on job site, they will immediately be replaced by employer. Any employee’s tools which are stolen by forcible entry or destroyed while contained within employer-owned or operated vehicle at any location, will be replaced immediately by employer.

MM senior (more than 48 months): $24.48

Editor’s notes: Trades council: Employer will deduct $0.06 per hour worked from wages of employee to Alberta and Northwest Territories (District of Mackenzie) Building and Construction Trades Council. Standby: 6 hours’ pay (previously 5 hours’ pay) at employee’s base rate per 7-day week. Employer will provide suitable communication device to employee when on standby who will only use device for company business or in emergency situation. Travel time: All travel time before 6 a.m. and after 8 p.m. Monday to Friday will be paid at applicable overtime rate. Employee who works in out-of-town location will receive board, accommodation and any other expense that employee may incur on behalf of employer. Expenses will not apply to employee working within 100-kilometre radius of employer’s shop.
