Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2026. Signed on Jan. 16, 2024.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Oct. 29, 2023 - 2.5%
Effective April 28, 2024 - 4.5%
Effective May 4, 2025 - 4.5%
Shift premium: $3.00 per hour worked on any shift between 9:00 am and 8:29 pm. $3.00 per hour worked on any shift between 8:30 pm and 1:00 am.
Paid holidays: 15 days.
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks.
Overtime: One and one-half times the hourly wage rate for the first 2 hours of overtime Monday through Friday. One and one-half times the hourly wage rate for the first 8 hours of overtime Monday through Friday. Two times the hourly wage rate for all other overtime hours worked.
Meal allowance: $23 if a hot meal is not supplied for second, third and subsequent meals.
Medical benefits: The Employer shall contribute the required amount to CMAW Benefits.
Sick leave: Employees are entitled to sickness or injury leave.
Pension: The Employer shall contribute the required amount to the CMAW Target Pension Plan.
Call-in pay: When an employee is called out for work, the Employer shall pay a minimum of one-half of the scheduled shift hours at applicable straight time or overtime hourly rate, regardless of whether the employee actually commenced work. When an Employee works more than one-half of the scheduled shift hours, the employer shall pay for the full shift.
Uniforms/clothing: Employee is responsible for providing clothing needed for protection against the natural elements, general purpose work gloves and appropriate footwear, including safety footwear. The employer shall provide safety headgear and all other items of personal protective equipment.
Mileage: A daily travel allowance shall be paid to any local resident employee who uses their own vehicle to travel daily from their residence to a project located outside of the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley.
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
Carpenter (general foreperson) “inside” Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley - $44.05, up one step to $44.91.
Carpenter (general foreperson) “outside” Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley - $44.05, up one step to $44.91.
