Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023. Signed on June 26, 2020.
Shift premium: $2.25 per hour for spray painting, sandblasting, building cleaning (by steam or other process). $0.50 per hour for all work performed from scaffolds 50 feet and higher (also applicable to work performed on bridges, towers, tanks, cranes, erected structural steel, gantries, poles, stacks, refinery vessels, skeleton structures and where access may be gained with or without scaffolding). $0.75 per hour for all work performed higher than 250 feet (does not apply to work on buildings). 120% of applicable journeyperson rate when employer appoints general foreperson; 115% of applicable journeyperson rate when employer appoints foreperson in charge of 5 or more employees; 108% of applicable journeyperson rate when employer appoints foreperson in charge of 4 or more employees. 7% for each hour worked on any shift which begins between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. 16% for each hour worked on any shift which begins between 8:30 p.m. and before 12:01 a.m.
Paid holidays: 12 days plus Friday preceding B.C. Day, Friday preceding Labour Day. Statutory holiday pay is 6% of gross earnings.
Vacations with pay: Vacation pay is 6% of gross earnings. Employee may take up to 3 weeks vacation per year.
Overtime: All hours worked outside regular hours of work will be considered overtime. Time and one-half for first 2 hours of overtime; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for first 8 hours of overtime on Saturday; double time thereafter. Double time for all hours worked on Sundays, statutory holidays.
Meal allowance: Employer will also provide hot meal to employees at no cost or tax-free allowance of $17 (previously $25) plus 30-minute meal break when employees work shift more than 10 hours in duration. Additional 30-minute meal break, at straight-time rates, will be provided every 4 hours thereafter.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $2.02 per hour to health and welfare fund.
Pension: Employer will contribute $0.50 per hour to District Council 38 Pension Trust Fund and $3.50 per hour to International Painters and Allied Trades Industry Pension Fund (Canada).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide spray and sandblast hoods; sterilized respirators with sufficient filters; hand cleaner and ear protection if required by WorkSafeBC regulations. Employer will provide masks, respirators, other protective clothing when employee works over or with injurious chemicals or other injurious substances.
Mileage: $0.59 per kilometre (previously $0.54 per kilometre) for mileage driven to and from metro-zone limits.

Editor’s notes: Inclement weather hour bank: Maximum 40 hours. Hours may be drawn from bank to make up for hours lost due to inclement weather. Employees will be allowed to work at straight-time rates outside of regular hours of work in order to establish hour bank. Room and board allowance: Employer will provide daily lump sum allowance of $155 (previously $150) or employer will provide employee with 1 single room plus $70 (previously $67.50) as daily meal allowance.
