Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023. Signed on June 1, 2020.
Shift premium: $6 per hour for each hour worked on any shift which constitutes afternoon or night shift Monday through Friday. Double time until such time 8-hour break occurs if employee works before 8-hour break occurs. $34 round-trip per day worked for employees living between 50 and 100 kilometres of main post office of city, town or municipality where project is being performed. $40 round-trip per day worked for employees living between 80 to 100 kilometres of main post office of city, town or municipality where project is being performed. $20 per day for employees desiring to check out of camp Saturday, Sunday, statutory holidays. When 5 or more employees are on 1 job, 1 employee will be designated foreperson and will be paid minimum 15% per hour above journeyperson rate; general forepersons will be paid minimum 20% per hour over journeyperson rate. $1 per hour over journeyperson wage rate for employees working as instrument calibrators. $1.50 per hour over journeyperson wage rate for employees working as class A gasfitters. $0.50 per hour over journeyperson’s rate of pay employees while working from swinging scaffold or bosun’s chair. $0.25 per hour when level 2 first aid ticket is required for employees for whom employer requires level 2 first aid ticket on project. $0.50 per hour over standard rate for employees required to work in Yukon.
Paid holidays: 12 days plus Friday preceding British Columbia Day, Friday preceding Labour Day. Employees will be paid 12% of total gross earnings (not fringe benefits) consisting of 6% for annual holidays and 6% for statutory holidays.
Vacations with pay: Employee may take up to 3 weeks’ annual vacation in any calendar year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after regular hours; double time after 2 hours of overtime Monday through Friday. Time and one-half for first 8 hours of work on Saturday; double time thereafter.
Meal allowance: Employer will supply lunch every 4 hours, with no loss of time, if overtime of more than 4 hours is worked.
Medical benefits: Union health and welfare plan.
Pension: Employer will contribute $5.25 per hour to union pension plan for full-time employees; employer will contribute $2.36 per hour to $4.20 per hour for apprentices based on time served.
Uniforms/clothing: Protective clothing will be supplied to employees working in confined spaces on maintenance and repair jobs where certain conditions exist such as working in tanks or pipe containing chemicals, oils, gases, acids. When required, rubber boots and raincoats, pants and hats will be furnished by employer on underground sewer and water main work, including piping, carrying gas, oil or other fluids and in accordance with WorkSafeBC regulations. Employers will supply welder’s helmets, leather jackets or arms (when necessary), goggles and gloves. Goggles and gloves will be supplied to fab shop employees. Gloves will be supplied to all employees working with welders. Coveralls and gloves will be supplied to all employees working with fibreglass pipe and materials whether in shop or field construction. Leather aprons will be supplied to fitters working with welders in fab shops.
Tool allowance: All tools will be supplied by employer for all trades,
Mileage: $0.45 per kilometre for work outside 40-kilometre radius of job site.

Editor’s notes: Living-out allowance/daily travel: Where there is no camp accommodation, employee may elect to receive compensation from employer. $150 per day (previously $145 per day) as living-out allowance. Effective May 1, 2022: $155 per day. $67.50 per day (previously $65 per day) as room plus meal allowance. Effective May 1, 2022: $70 per day. 35-day turn-around: For each 35 calendar days on certain projects, employee will receive allowance for turnaround or periodic leave to be provided on use-it-or-lose-it basis. $175 for 250 to 500 kilometres; $275 for 501 to 750 kilometres; $375 for 751 to 1,000 kilometres; $475 for more than 1,000 kilometres. Pre-apprentice: Upon employment of pre-apprentice in industry, employer will pay pre-apprentice initial 1-time sum of $40 and additional $20 per month thereafter that will be deducted and remitted for employee’s union dues. Helmets to Hardhats: Employer will contribute $0.01 per hour to Helmets to Hardhats (H2H) Canada.
