Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026. Signed on April 20, 2023.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2023: 9%

Effective April 1, 2024: 3%

Effective April 1, 2025: 2%

Shift premium: $2 per hour for afternoon, night shifts.

Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 13 months, 15 days or 8% after 61 months, 20 days or 10% after 121 months, 25 days or 10% after 181 months.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours beyond 40 hours per week.

Meal allowance: $30 or 1 hot meal (previously $20) when employee works unscheduled overtime of more than 2 hours beyond regular shift. Meal will be provided after 2-hour time period and every 4 hours thereafter, with 20-minute period, paid at applicable overtime rate, to consume meal.

Paramedical: $300 per person per practitioner for audiologist, chiropractor, homeopath, massage therapist, naturopath, occupational therapist, osteopath, podiatrist/chiropodist, speech therapist. $1,000 per person per practitioner for physiotherapy, psychologist, social worker, psychotherapist combined.

STD: Coverage of 67% of weekly earnings.

LTD: Coverage of 67% of monthly earnings.

AD&D: Coverage of $75,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $75,000.

Pension: Employer will contribute to RRSP. Employees will qualify after 60 calendar days of employment.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, wife, husband, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law, common-law spouse, stepparents).

Seniority – recall rights: 1 month per year of service, maximum 1 year. 1 year for absence because of sickness covered by medical certificate or accident recognized by Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB).

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay, calculated at time and one half.

Safety shoes: $250 per year for work boots.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide coveralls on exchange basis or exchange service for coveralls weekly, within 30 calendar days of start of employment. Insulated coveralls will be provided as outdoor conditions require. Employer will also supply gloves, winter gloves on exchange basis.

Prep layout: $40.22 rising 2 steps to $42.26

Plate roll operator A: $47 rising 2 steps to $49.38

Plate roll operator B: $40.38 rising 2 steps to $42.42

Machine operator A: $38.91 rising 2 steps to $40.88

Machine operator B: $31.57 rising 2 steps to $33.17

Prep foreman: $50.92 rising 2 steps to $53.50

Prep assistant foreman: $48.36 rising 2 steps to $50.81

Prep lead hand: $47.36 rising 2 steps to $49.76

Completion department

Completion worker A: $33.13 rising 2 steps to $34.80

Completion worker B: $29.39 rising 2 steps to $30.88

Completion foreman: $50.92 rising 2 steps to $53.50

Completion assistant foreman: $48.36 rising 2 steps to $50.81

Apprentices

First-year (60%): $24.17 rising 2 steps to $25.40

Second-year (75%): $30.19 rising 2 steps to $31.72

Third-year (90%): $36.21 rising 2 steps to $38.05

Editor’s notes: Employee assistance program: Employer will contribute $0.02 per hour worked each month (after 90 days of employment) to Boilermaker Contractors’ of Alberta Employee Assistance Program (B.C.A.B.E.A.P.). Apprentice training: 50% of tuition for apprenticeship technical training school will be reimbursed by employer if apprentice achieves 75% or more on apprenticeship technical training.
