Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 1, 2013, to Sept. 30, 2017. Signed on July 17, 2015.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Oct. 1, 2013: 2% or Consumer Price Index
Effective Oct. 1, 2014: 2% or CPI
Effective Oct. 1, 2015: To be determined, based on Western Forest Products
Effective Oct. 1, 2016: To be determined, based on Western Forest Products
Paid holidays: 12 days. Time and one-half for all shifts on a designated day off.
Vacations with pay: 14 days after 1 year of service, 21 days after 2 years, 28 days after 7 years, 35 days after 15 years, 42 days after 22 years.
Overtime: Double time paid for all hours worked beyond regular schedule. Overtime calculated at time and one-half. Overtime capped at $3,500.
Medical benefits: Employer to pay $826 per month per eligible officer to be used for the health benefit plan.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for the death of an immediate family member, including spouse, common-law spouse, father, mother, spouse or common-law spouse of mother or father, grandchildren, brother, sister, grandparents, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner, or any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household.
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service. Employee must have at least 1 year’s service.
Safety shoes: $150 per year.
Uniforms/clothing: Gloves, rain jackets and pants, 2 pairs of coveralls provided by employer.

Editor’s notes: Marine disaster and mishap: $1,600 for shift vessels, $2,000 for continuously operating vessels when officer suffers loss of personal effects or equipment related to a wreck or marine disaster. Medical examinations: Company retains right to have all officers medically examined for fitness and any officer found unfit for service will be terminated. Company will pay up to $125 for doctor’s charges. $150 effective upon ratification.
