Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2022. Signed on Feb. 22, 2019.
Shift premium: 50% premium on trip rate for all trips on Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day. 1-hour regular premium per trip for lead-hands. Time and one-half for any regular drivers forced to work on day off.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 5 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 8 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 18 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 120 hours per year. Unused banked time will be paid out on next payroll following end of year.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums (previously employer pays 90% of premiums, employee pays 10% of premiums) for Prairie Teamsters Health and Welfare Plan.
Pension: All regular drivers will be entitled to Teamsters Prairie Provinces Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, stepmother, stepfather, mother, father, guardian, sons, daughters, stepchild, brothers, sisters, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, any other immediate family member recognized under Canadian Labour Code). For death of family member not covered above, employee can make representation for leave outlining reasons why it should be granted.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 or more consecutive months.
Probationary period: 120 calendar days of employment (on completion of 60 days of required days of probationary employment, employees will be entitled to all rights, privileges of agreement).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 6 months for operational issues; 24 months for preventable accidents, infractions covered under Highway Traffic Act, at-fault incidents of discrimination or harassment.
Safety shoes: $150 per year (deducted from $300 uniform allowance).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply regular drivers with 1 jacket, 2 ties, 3 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, 1 uniform cap. As well, employer will provide $300 per year uniform allowance to be used for any approved uniform item (unspent portion will be carried over).
