Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 1, 2018 to July 31, 2020. Ratified on Aug. 9, 2019. Signed on Jan. 14, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Aug. 1, 2018: 0%

Shift premium: $3.25 per hour for all active duty hours which fall within 64-hour period beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday to 7 a.m. on Monday. $2 per hour when employee performs supervisory duties during 1 shift or longer.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 12 days after 1 year, 16 days after 4 years, 20 days after 8 years, 24 days after 15 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 10 hours during 24-hour shift or work on scheduled days of rest, with less than 7 calendar days’ advance notice.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.

Sick leave: 1.5 days for each month of employment, maximum 120 days. Employees may be required to submit satisfactory proof to employer of any illness, non-occupational accident, quarantine. When employee must pay fee for such proof, fee will be reimbursed by employer.

LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (child, parent, brother, sister, husband, wife (including common-law spouse), fiancée, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepparent, stepchildren, stepbrother, stepsister, guardian, grandparent, grandchild). 2 additional days if travel more than 500) kilometres 1-way from employee’s residence is necessary to attend funeral.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months following layoff.

Probationary period: 6 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for employee who has been subject to disciplinary action.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide: 4 uniformed shirts, 2 name tags, 1 jacket/parka, 1 head cover, 4 pairs of pants, 1 black leather belt, 1 pair of safety glasses, 1 toque, 2 pairs of epaulette slip-on insignia as appropriate for job classification. Employer will provide $250 reimbursement (each year on Jan. 1) for jumpsuit, boots, any other item at discretion of operations manager.

Mileage: $0.45 per kilometre.

Editor’s notes: On-call: $3.30 per hour for 12 on-call hours per 24-hour core flex shift. On each occasion that employee is recalled to duty during on-call period, employee will receive pay for all hours worked during on-call period or for 2 hours, whichever is greater. EMT (emergency medical technician) training: Employees, who have completed probationary period, will be reimbursed for expenses, maximum $1,500. Any further expenses will be paid 1 year after successful completion and registration with ACP (Alberta College of Pharmacy), maximum $1,500. Remote standby: $15 meal allowance for first 5 hours duration and each subsequent period of 5 hours duration, maximum $45 per day when employee is required to standby at location or event or are dispatched on ambulance service involving travel beyond 60 kilometres from site or for period greater than 5 hours. Flexible spending account: Employer will provide $1,500 effective Jan. 1 of each year for flexible spending account for education, travel, professional, dental, RRSP, wellness expenses. Any unused funds may be carried forward, maximum 1 year.
