Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 8, 2020 to Aug. 6, 2023. Ratified on Aug. 8, 2020. Signed on Aug. 12, 2020. (First agreement.)
Shift premium: Paid at overtime rate for each minute employee is short of 8 hours when employee has shift changed and receives less than 8 hours free from duty. $1.10 per hour for first aid level 1 (applied to hours on duty as designated first-aid attendant); $1.75 per hour for first aid level 2 (applied to all hours worked). $1.35 per hour for p.m. shift. $3.95 per hour for 12-hour shift. $2 per hour for trainer. $3 per hour for acting team leader. $1 per hour for pipeline operator.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 4% of earnings to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 10 or 12 hours per day or 40 hours per week (paid by minute).
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employer pays 61% of premiums, employee pays 39% for extended medical plan.
Dental: 100% coverage of basic expenses. 50% coverage of major restorative expenses. 50% of orthodontic expenses per dependent child younger than 19.
Vision: $200 every 2 years.
Paramedical: $500 per practitioner per year (acupuncturist, chiropodist, podiatrist, chiropractor, massage therapist, naturopath, osteopath, physiotherapist, psychologist and speech therapist, massage therapist).
Sick leave: 3 calendar days per calendar year. Unused leave will be paid out on last payday before Dec. 31 each year.
STD: Coverage of 66.7% of weekly earnings, maximum $830 per week.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 66.7% of weekly earnings, maximum $7,500 per month.
AD&D: Coverage of 250% of annual earnings, maximum $430,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of 250% of annual earnings, maximum $430,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute $0.50 per hour, employee will contribute $0.35 per hour, to employer-sponsored RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 3 days to grieve, attend funeral, take care of issues relating to death of member of immediate family as defined in Alberta Employment Standards Code.
Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for employee who goes to work for local union which represents employee in their bargaining unit; 180 calendar days for any employee promoted to position outside bargaining unit who later proves to be unsatisfactory for such position or for reduction in staff of department or if employee wishes not to accept position. 120 calendar days following layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at applicable overtime rate.
Probationary period: 120 calendar days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for discipline history.
Safety shoes: $200 once every 24 months for CSA-approved steel-toed footwear. All safety footwear must be either 6 inches or higher; made from grade 1 CSA steel-toed boots with steel sole-plate protection or composite/plastic reinforcement-type materials.
Uniforms/clothing: Coveralls supplied to machine-shop employees will be cleaned weekly by employer.
Tool allowance: $150 per year to each machine shop employee. Specialty tools will be provided by employer as required, but will remain property of employer.
