Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 27, 2020 to Feb. 26, 2024. Signed on June 15, 2021. (First agreement)

Wage adjustments:

Effective Feb 27, 2021: 2%

Effective Feb 27, 2022: 2%

Effective Feb 28, 2023: 2%

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for graveyard shift (all hours worked between midnight and including 7 a.m.).

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% after 1 year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 10 years, 25 days or 10% after 20 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day; double time after 12 hours of work per day. Time and one-half for work after 40 hours per week.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for single coverage, employee pays increased premium amount for family coverage.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Maximum $200 every 24 months for 18 or older and every 12 months for 17 or younger. Covers prescribed eyeglasses, contact lenses, laser eye corrective surgery, prescription sunglasses, prescription safety glasses. Annual eye examinations are covered separately up to reasonable and customary fees.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Employees will make mandatory contribution of 2% of base wages (not including tips) and employer will match contribution of 2% to BC Target Benefit Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, guardian, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, sibling, child, stepchild, grandchild, someone living with employee as member of family).

Seniority – recall rights: 16 weeks after layoffs; 12 consecutive months if employee accept employment in non-bargaining unit position within Elements Casino Victoria or at another Great Canadian worksite. 3 years if employee doesn’t return and are not likely to return in near future from medical leave.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at applicable overtime rates.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for disciplinary action recorded against employee.

Severance: 1 week’s pay to start; 2 weeks’ pay after 12 months of employment; 3 weeks’ pay, plus 1 additional week for each additional year of employment, maximum 8 weeks’ pay, after 3 years of employment.

Safety shoes: $100 upon completion of probation, and every 2 years thereafter, for count-team employees.

Editor’s notes: Meals provided by employer: All employees are entitled to 30% discount on regular retail price of food and non-alcoholic beverage orders in QSR or The Well, on- or off-shift. When off-shift, employees are entitled to discount for themselves and maximum 3 guests. Employer-mandated training: For employer-mandated training, employer will pay for cost of training courses and employee’s time for attendance at employee’s regular rate of pay. Career advancement training in which employer has selected employees for such training will be paid by employer. Cleaning allowance: Employees required to clean uniform will be given $0.75 per shift for supervisors; $0.50 per shift for all other employees
