Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2021 Aug. 31, 2026. Signed on Dec. 16, 2021.
Paid holidays: 11 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years. Vacation pay will be made available to each employee on last working day prior to commencement of annual vacation.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
STD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
LTD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 5 days (2 unpaid) for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, father, mother and spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, children, children of spouse or common-law partner, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, grandfather, grandmother of employee, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner of employee and spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, any relative of employee who resides with employee).
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months after continuous layoff.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written reprimands or warning letters.
Mileage: $0.425 per mile (previously $0.395 per mile). Effective Sept. 1, 2023 $0.435. Effective Sept. 1, 2024 $0.445. Effective Sept. 1, 2025 $0.455.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 12.6% increase):
Work time/wait time: $19.31 rising 4 steps to $21.74
Signing bonus: $500 upon ratification of contract
Editor’s notes: Extra pick-ups/deliveries: On loads that require more than 1 pick-up or delivery, driver will be paid $27.50 (previously $22.50) for each additional pick-up or delivery. Safety bonus: After 1 month of service, driver will be entitled to safety bonus of $0.045 per mile, based on miles operated in preceding 1 month, if employer has realized substantiated preventable equipment damage or no insurance claims on behalf of driver during 1-month period, and if there have been no violations under National Safety Code (NSC) during 1-month period. Layover: $150 per day per layover if drivers layover during any 1 round trip or tour away from home terminals. Personal days: 5 paid days of personal leave per year to: treat injury or illness; take care of health obligations for employee or family member; take care of obligations related to education of family member younger than 18; manage urgent situation; attend citizenship ceremony under Citizenship Act; manage any other situation prescribed by regulation. Teamster union/industry advancement fund: Employer will contribute $4 per month for each employee covered by collective agreement.
