Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 1, 2023 to July 31, 2026. Signed on July 21, 2023.
Shift premium: $5 per hour for employee who works majority of shift by themselves, when shift goes unfilled. $5 per hour for working short.
Paid holidays: 10 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 6% after 5 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half. Time may be banked, maximum 360 hours.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums for CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.
Sick leave: After 3 years of employment, employees may accumulate sick bank at 1% of all hours worked (bank will renew each year and will accumulate year over year, maximum 80 hours, but will not be paid out).
Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 2%, to CLAC pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, child, mother, father). Time off without pay for death of other family members.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for letters of warning or discipline.
Mileage: $0.45 per kilometre for staff who are in designated driving positions.
