Renewal agreement: Effective July 5, 2021 to July 4, 2024. Signed on July 5, 2021.

Shift premium: $0.40 per hour for afternoon shifts. 4 hours at standard rate for weekend shift for employees who work 36 standard hours. $1.25 per hour above group classification for team leader.

Paid holidays: 10 days, plus one-half day on Dec. 24 and one-half day on Dec. 31.

Vacations with pay: 1 week or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 15 years, 4 weeks or 10% after 20 years, 5 weeks or 11% after 25 years. Employees eligible for 3 weeks of vacation may request 3 weeks together.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked after 40 hours per week or for time worked on Saturdays; double time for time worked on Sundays.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: Coverage of $350 maximum per person every 24 months (regular glasses and contacts).

Paramedical: Coverage of $350 per year maximum for each of chiropractor, podiatrist, naturopath, speech therapist, masseur, psychologist.

AD&D: Coverage of $50,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $50,000.

Pension: Employer will contribute $1.05 per hour (previously $1 per hour), employee will contribute $0.65 per hour to DC pension plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, children. 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, grandchildren). 1 day to attend funeral of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, stepfather, stepmother, stepchild.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoffs.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at regular rate or time and one-half for hours worked, whichever is greater.

Probationary period: First 480 hours worked.

Safety shoes: $175 per year for CSA-approved safety footwear for employees who have 6 months’ service.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide required PPE such as safety tools, devices, equipment, protective clothing including safety eye glasses (prescription and non-prescription) to protect employees from industrial injury and illness. Employer will supply insulated coveralls to yard and stacker employees: 1 pair every 2 years. Employer will supply insulated coveralls to maintenance and shipper receivers: 1 pair every 3 years. Employer will provide 3 pairs of insulated coveralls every 3 years for truck floor warehouse personnel for loading of trailers in winter months.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4.8% increase):

Group 3: $19.75 rising 2 steps to $20.70

Group 4: $20.11 rising 2 steps to $21.06

Special group (A): $20.18 rising 2 steps to $21.13

Millwright licensed (F): $24.95 rising 2 steps to $25.90

Electrician licensed (G): $25.30 rising 2 steps to $26.25

Special (H): $20.18 rising 2 steps to $21.13

Maintenance helper (I): $20.36 rising 2 steps to $21.31

$300 signing bonus

Editor’s notes: Personal paid leave day: 1 day will be given each year — to be taken at request of employee — after 1 year’s seniority. Prescription safety glasses: Maximum $300 every 24 months. Seniority premiums: All employees will receive in addition to group rate: $0.05 per hour after 5 years’ seniority; $0.10 per hour after 10 years’ seniority; $0.15 per hour after 15 years’ seniority; $0.20 per hour after 20 years’ seniority; $0.25 per hour after 25 years’ seniority; $0.30 per hour after 30 years’ seniority; $0.35 per hour after 35 years’ seniority; $0.40 per hour after 40 years’ seniority. Hearing aids: $400 maximum per person in any 60 consecutive months.
