Wage adjustments:

Effective Nov. 7, 2019: 1.5%

Effective Nov. 7, 2020: 1.5%

Effective Nov. 7, 2021: 1.75%

Effective Nov. 7, 2022: 2%

Additional $1 per hour increase for employees hired after Nov. 1,2007

Shift premium: If required to work, without having had required hours off after working previous shift, employee will be paid double time for hours worked up to required number of hours after last punch-out and regular rate for work thereafter. $2 per hour for all hours worked between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. $8 per hour for maintenance employees for high climbing on bridge (defined as any work that is required to be performed off road deck/sidewalk); additional $4 per hour for work performed in extension equipment, such as basket truck, which is extended between 80 and 100 feet. of $3.50 to each employee for each day employee handles or respond to situations with elevated hazard risk such as handling of dangerous goods or responding to bomb threats. 2.5 hours of pay (3.5 hours of pay for long weekends) for period available for call-in when maintenance worker is on standby over weekend (post-Friday shift to pre-Monday morning shift). $500 per year for maintenance workers who possess valid certification for trades.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 6 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years. 1 week carryover is allowed but must be taken in carryover year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work greater than regular or standard workday or greater than 80 hours averaged over 2-week period. May be taken as time but must be taken with 3 months of applicable pay period or, by mutual consent, within 12 months.

Meal allowance: Employee will be provided with 1 overtime meal when: working overtime 2 or more hours beyond normal working time; when employee is called in on overtime, with less than 1 hour of notice and is required to work until regularly scheduled shift; when employee works on day off with less than 1 hour of notice. When called in for snow removal before regularly scheduled work day, employee is eligible for both breakfast and lunch (dinner if employee works more than 2 hours beyond normal working time). If employee works on day off, employee will be eligible for appropriate meals during which they work.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Sick leave: 48 hours with pay in any calendar year. Employees will be able to accumulate maximum 96 hours. All unused sick time greater than 96 hours as of Dec. 31 in any year will be paid out to employee in January of following year in each calendar year.

STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Employees will contribute between 3% and 6.5% of annual earnings into pension plan. Employer will match contribution.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, parent, child, (including child of common-law partner) grandparent, grandchild, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepparent, stepchild, stepgrandparent, stepgrandchild, stepbrother, stepsister, parent-in-law, ward of employee. 2 days to attend funeral of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months for layoffs.

Call-in pay: Maintenance employee called in to work outside of regularly scheduled hours will be guaranteed minimum 2 hours of work at applicable overtime rate.

Probationary period: 120 days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary letters.

Safety shoes: $200 every 3 years for winter boots; $200 every year for CSA-approved boots for employees who are required to wear them. $200 per year for regular shoes, if required.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply clothing/uniforms (jackets/shirts/blouses) or required safety apparel. Employer will provide $250 per year to purchase and maintain pants required for work ($350 per year for maintenance employees).

Maintenance team leader: $34.94 rising 3 steps to $36.80

Building mgmt. system specialist: $35.72 rising 3 steps to $37.63

Editor’s notes: Medical notes: If employer requests doctor’s note for any illness or absence from work, employer will reimburse employee for doctor’s fee, maximum $150 per year. Snow removal: Maintenance department employees must remain available for snow removal as per posted standby schedule. Employees will be paid 8 hours for 7 days for carrying pager and being available for snow removal (pager pay is not overtime pay) when maintenance worker is on standby for snow removal. If employee is called into work for snow removal, employee will be paid double time for actual hours worked for minimum 2 hours. Audiometric testing: Employer will provide 2 hours of paid time during employee’s day off work to employees who undergo audiometric testing or other tests mandated by employer as well as cost of tests and any protection devices. Social justice fund: Employer will pay $1,000 each year of collective agreement to PSAC social justice fund. Employee toll discount plan: Employer will reimburse employee 50% of cost of applicable toll for 1 passenger vehicle on date of travel. Fitness allowance: Employer will provide 1 flat amount payment per year to employee who has purchased membership at fitness club, fitness training or instruction (reimbursement will be maximum $200 (excluding taxes) per year).
