Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec 31, 2028. Signed on Aug. 29, 2019. (First agreement)
Shift premium: $120 per day for initial training. One-half hour of credited flight time for each hour of training or 4 hours of credited flight time, whichever is greater, for recurrent ground training. One-half hour of credited flight time for each hour of training for online training courses. $25 per day for trainers.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 3 years, 20 days or 8% after 8 years, 25 days or 10% after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked greater than 85 hours in 1 block.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 12 days per year. Employer will provide 1 extra day’s pay if no sick days are used in 6-month period; 2 day’s if no sick days used in 1 year (plus additional day of with pay).
STD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: DC plan. After 1 year of service, employer will contribute 3%, employee will contribute 3%. After 5 years of service, employer will contribute 4%, employee will contribute 4%. After 15 years of service, employer will contribute 5%, employee will contribute 5%.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse (1 year minimum), parent, child, stepchild, sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, stepparents, grandparents, grandchildren, any relative residing in flight attendant’s household). 2 working days leave, with pay, will be given if funeral is more than 5 hours of driving distance away from flight attendant’s home.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after layoffs; 3 months for flight attendant promoted or transferred to fill vacancy in another classification. 24 months for flight attendant transferred to non-flying or supervisory positions (at completion of 24-month period, accrual will cease, however seniority will be retained further 12 months after which flight attendant’s name will be removed from seniority list unless they return to flight-attendant position).
Probationary period: 120 calendar days calculated from date of hire (period will be automatically extended by same length of any period of absence of 7 or more consecutive days). Period may be extended by additional 30 days worked, by mutual agreement of employer and union.
Safety shoes: $100 per year to supplement purchase of approved footwear.
Uniforms/clothing: Dry cleaning: $60 for dry cleaning, maintenance of uniforms and other miscellaneous items. Employer will assume 100% of cost of initial basic uniforms; pieces will be replaced as required or after 2 years of being issued.
Mileage: Reasonable per-kilometre allowance as set by CRA each year for flight attendants who use own vehicles on employer business.

Editor’s notes: Vacation/stat credits: Flight attendant will receive 4 hours of credited flight time for each vacation/stat day taken. Base-transfer credits: Flight attendant will receive 4 hours of credited flight time per day, maximum 7 days, as long as employer requires this move or base is closed. Reserve-day credits: Flight attendant will receive 4 hours of credited flight time for every reserve day. Meeting/office/administration day credit: Flight attendant will receive 4 hours of credited flight time for each day of meeting/office/administration day duties that are assigned by employer (includes duties where flight attendant is serving as member of committee, such as health and safety, flight safety committee). Laundry: If flight attendant is away from home for more than 4 days and does not have access to free laundry facilities, employer will reimburse $15 on fifth day away; additional $15 provided on eighth day away. Cellphone: $25 per month towards cellphone usage. Per diem expenses: $3.50 per hour while away from home base.
