Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2022 to Jan. 31, 2025. Signed on March 3, 2022.

Shift premium: $3.50 per hour for afternoon, graveyard, weekend shifts. $3 per hour for field service shifts. $2.50 per hour for lead-hands.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 24 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours; double time thereafter based on 5-day workweek. Time and one-half for work on Saturday will be paid for first 10 hours; double time thereafter. Double time for work on Sunday. Time and one-half for weekend staff for first 2 shifts of overtime; double time thereafter (overtime can occur before or after scheduled weekend shift).

Meal allowance: Employer will reimburse employee, maximum $20 (receipt required) or at employee option, provide 1 meal plus 30-minute paid lunch when employee works more than 2 hours of overtime.

Vision: 1 basic occupational vision examination every 2 years, maximum $125. $150 per year for any vision-related expenses for employee and dependants.

Pension: Employer will match employee contributions of 5% into group RRSP.

Bereavement leave: Maximum 40 hours for death of spouse (including common-law, same-gender partner), child, mother, father, sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandchildren, grandparents, grandparents of spouse, daughter-in-law, son-in-law. Maximum 60 hours if employee must travel at least 250 kilometres outside of Calgary to attend funeral.

Seniority – recall rights: 2 months to start; 12 months after 1 year; 18 months after 3 years.

Probationary period: 520 hours worked.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for warnings.

Severance: 1 week after 3 months; 2 weeks after 2 years; 4 weeks after 4 years; 5 weeks after 6 years; 6 weeks after 8 years; 8 weeks after 10 years.

Safety shoes: $300 per year (previously $200 per year), on March 1 of each year, for approved safety footwear.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide all employees whose work requires them to wear protective devices, with necessary tools, equipment, protective clothing, including safety glasses (prescription, if necessary).

Painter: $28.43 rising 2 steps to $30.02

Editor’s notes: Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.02 per hour per employee for all compensated hours into special fund to provide paid education leave. Personal days: Every employee will be entitled to 20 hours of personal time for each year of agreement and days will not carry over from year to year. Time will be accrued at 1% per year.
