Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026. Signed on Aug. 17, 2023.

Shift premium: $1 for lead-hands. $0.50 per hour for all hours worked on night shift.

Paid holidays: 10 days, including National Truth and Reconciliation Day.

Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days, to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 13 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work performed after 40 hours in 1 week between Sunday and Saturday.

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $200 per month, plus any applicable taxes, to Teamsters Local 847 Health and Welfare Trust Fund.

Paramedical: Coverage of 50%, maximum $1,000 per year per family for all practitioners combined (chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath, podiatrist/chiropodist, acupuncturist, audiologist, registered clinical psychologist, physiotherapist, registered massage therapist, speech therapist).

Sick leave: 10 days per year.

AD&D: Coverage of $50,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $50,000.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, same sex spouse/partner if residing together at least 6 months, parents (including foster- and stepparents), parent’s spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, children (including foster- and stepchildren), brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law and their spouses, legal guardians, any relative residing in employee’s household). Additional unpaid leave may be given when funeral is in excess of 500 kilometres away.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days and 480 worked hours after obtaining CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) certification and required clearances.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for notice of disciplinary action.

Safety shoes: $100 every January to employees for black, police-style boots which must be CSA-approved.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide: 2 tactical pants; 4 grey military shirts; 1 windbreaker; 1 sweater; 1 winter parka; 1 toque; 1 duty belt with accessories; 1 handcuffs; 1 flashlight and filter; 1 slash gloves; 1 safety glasses; 1 tactical vest (transport guards). Employer will make available parkas, toques and raincoats at any site where an employee is routinely exposed to elements (rain, cold). When required, employees will be supplied with bullet-resistant garment that must be worn while on duty.

Transport guards: $24.70 rising 2 steps to $25.95

Transport guards (Niagara): $22.90 rising 2 steps to $25.95

Admission/discharge guards: $24.70 rising 2 steps to $25.95

Control guards: $24.70 rising 2 steps to $25.95

Departure verification guards: $24.70 rising 2 steps to $25.95

Post guard bilingual (visit guards) : $24.40 rising 2 steps to $25.65

Post guards: $22.65 rising 2 steps to $23.85

Bullpens/casual post guards: $22.65 rising 2 steps to $23.85

Editor’s notes: Parking: Employer will pay half cost of parking for employees. Personal leave: 5 days per year.
