Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2021 to Jan. 31, 2025. Signed on March 13, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Feb. 1, 2021: 2.25%
Effective Feb. 1, 2022: 3%
Effective Feb. 1, 2023: 3%
Effective Feb. 1, 2024: 3%
Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 22 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week; double time after 3 consecutive hours of overtime. Employees may bank overtime worked, maximum 40 hours, into floating overtime bank.
Meal allowance: $9 supper money if employee works 3 hours of overtime after regular shift.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums to Medical Services Plan of B.C. Employer will contribute $310 per month per employee to health and welfare plan. Effective July 1, 2024: $320 per month.
Sick leave: 4 hours per month; maximum 16 hours of unused time will be rolled over and credited to employee’s sick leave for next year.
Bereavement leave: 3 consecutive working days, maximum of 10 hours per day, for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex partner, parents or stepparents of employee and spouse, children, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren of spouse, any relative who lives with employee as member of immediate family (under definition of immediate family)). Employee may be given further 2 days leave upon request, without pay.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff, 90 days for employee who is promoted and remains outside of bargaining unit.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of work or equivalent in pay at time and one-half.
Probationary period: 150 calendar days from first day of work after being hired by employer or 520 hours of work, whichever is greater (period may be extended up to additional 60 calendar days).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for 1-day suspension; 2 years for 2-day suspensions; 3 years for 3-day suspensions.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 7 weeks’ pay, after 1 year or more of service.
Safety shoes: $125 over contract term for approved footwear for purchase or maintenance (repair) of footwear. Footwear will be black but need not be steel-toed.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will furnish uniform equipment for employees as required. All uniform items, including shirts, will be replaced on 1-for-1 exchange basis. Employer will purchase, maintain, distribute 1 bullet-resistant vest for all route employees.

Custodian: $28.28 rising 1 step to $29.43
ABM service: $26.74 rising 1 step to $27.84
Driver: $26.43 rising 1 step to $27.52
Guard: $24.08 rising 1 step to $25.10
Vault: $29.33 rising 1 step to $28.18
Cash-cage turret: $23.14 rising 1 step to $22.17
Route casuals: $22.20 rising 1 step to $23.17
In-plant casuals: $18.94 rising 1 step to $19.81
Editor’s notes: Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.03 per hour into Unifor leadership training fund for all compensated hours to provide paid education leave. Training: 1 time per year, employer will pay employee, maximum 9 hours’ straight-time for training and qualification with GardaWorld instructor. Employer will provide adequate ammunition and related training supplies during sessions.
