Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2022. Ratified in July 2019. Signed on Aug. 1, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2018: 2.8%
Effective July 1, 2019: 2.1%
Effective July 1, 2020: 1.5%
Effective July 1, 2021: 1.5%
Shift premium: Employee who substantially performs duties of position which is classified higher classification level (on acting basis) for 3 consecutive working days will be paid acting pay calculated from date on which employee commenced to act as if employee had been appointed to higher classification level.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours for each month with at least 75 hours’ regular pay to start, 12.5 hours per month after 8 years, 13.75 hours per month after 16 years, 14.375 hours per month after 17 years, 15.625 hours per month after 18 years, 16.875 hours per month after 27 years, 18.75 hours per month after 28 years. Unused portions of time off, maximum 300 hours, will be credited to employee’s bank to be carried over to following year. Any hours greater than 300 will be automatically paid to employee.
Overtime: Time and one-half for up to 7.5 hours worked after regular hours on regular workday and on designated paid holiday. Double time for each contiguous hour after 7.5 on regular workday or all hours on employee’s second or subsequent day of rest. Overtime doesn’t apply where employee attends social engagements unless prior authorization is given and employee is required to attend by employer. Time may be banked and taken as compensatory leave but leave earned in fiscal year and outstanding on Sept. 30 of next following fiscal year will be paid at employee’s hourly rate of pay on Sept. 30.
Meal allowance: $12 when working 3 or more hours of overtime immediately following scheduled hours of work, except where free meals are provided. Additional $12 for every 4-hour period thereafter.
Sick leave: Full-time employees: 9.375 hours for each calendar month with 75 hours’ pay. Part-time employees: 0.25 times number of hours in normal workweek for each calendar month in which employee receives pay for at least twice number of hours in normal workweek. Up to 187.5 hours may be granted in advance of being earned.
Bereavement leave: Up to 5 paid working days for death of parent, stepparent, foster-parent, sibling, stepsibling, spouse, child, stepchild, foster-child, ward, grandchild, grandparent, parent-in-law, child-in-law, relative permanently residing in employee’s household (previously 7 consecutive calendar days). 1 paid day for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents of spouse. Must include day of memorial of begin within 2 days following death. Up to 3 additional paid days may be granted for travel.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at applicable overtime rate for call-in on day of rest or when called back to work on designated paid holiday or after leaving work on regular workday. Greater of applicable overtime rate or 1 hour’s pay at straight-time rate.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for any document or written statement related to disciplinary action (period will automatically be extended by length of any period of leave without pay of 3 months or more).
Severance: On first layoff, 2 weeks’ pay; 3 weeks’ pay after 10 years; 4 weeks’ pay after 20 years plus 1 week for each additional complete year of employment and pro-rated partial year. On second or subsequent layoff, 1 week’s pay for each complete year of continuous employment plus pro-rated partial year pay.
