Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1 2016, to Dec. 31 2020. Signed on June 24, 2016.

Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2%

Shift premium: Evening premium: $1.75 per hour for work between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Weekend premium: $1.50 per hour on a Saturday, Sunday.

Paid holidays: 11 days. Employees other than firefighters, can take half days off for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. 

Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 1 2/3 days per month after 6 years, 1 5/6 days per month after 17 years, 2 1/12 days per month after 18 years, 2 1/4 days per month after 28 years, 2 1/2 days per month after 29 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work on a holiday.

Meal allowance: $12 per day if working 3 hours of overtime. Effective Nov. 1, 2016: $13 per day. Effective Nov. 1, 2019: $13.50 per day. Additional meal allowance if working 4 hours of overtime.

Medical benefits: Medical Services Plan of New Brunswick, 100% paid by employer. 

Dental: 100% paid by employer ($25 individual, $50 family deductible per year). Covers 90% of approved fees. Major restorative: 50% coverage, maximum $1,250 per year. Orthodontic: 50% coverage, lifetime maximum $2,500.

Vision: $200 every 24 months, 

Sick leave: Full-time: 1.25 days per month (at least 10 days or 7 shifts worked). Shift workers: 1.17 days per month (at least 10 days or 7 shifts worked). 

LTD: 100% covered by employer, 70% of monthly salary, maximum $8,000. 

Life insurance: 38% of premium paid, double annual salary.

Pension: Defined benefit: employees contribute 7.5% on first $3,500, 4.6% on $3,500 to $35,000, 7.5% on $35,800 to $98,641 of income. Defined contribution: employer contributes 7%. Effective Jan. 1, 2017, employer contributes 7.5%. Effective Jan. 1, 2020, employer contributes 8%.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster parent, spouse, child (including child of common-law spouse), stepchild, ward of the employee, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, relative permanently residing in employee’s household). 3 extra days for travel. 1 day for death of brother-in-law or sister-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. 

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at overtime rate.

Probationary period: 6 months, maximum 12 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.

Severance: 2 weeks for the first year, 1 week for each subsequent year, maximum 30 weeks.

Safety shoes: $125 per year. (Previously $85 per year)

Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides 5 shirts, 3 pants, 3 coveralls (mechanics), 1 coverall (other airside employees), 1 jacket (full-time employees), 1 sweatshirt/sweater, 1 all-season cap, 3 t-shirts, 1 belt, 1 parka (electricians, mechanics), 1 snowpants (electricians, mechanics). Rain wear (hats, coats, pants, boots). 1 lined winter parka every 5 years. Non-prescription, clip-on sunglasses.

Mileage: Treasury Board rate per kilometre for commuting, if working overtime.
