Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2021. Signed on Feb. 28, 2018.
Wage adjustments:
Effective March 1, 2018: $0.25 per hour
Effective March 1, 2019: $0.25 per hour
Effective March 1, 2020: $0.25 per hour
Shift premium: 5% for all hours worked past 4:30 p.m. for employees on afternoon shift or scheduled to work past 4:30 p.m. 10% for all hours worked before 8:30 a.m. for employees on third shift or scheduled to work past 8:30 a.m. One-half time premium for all employees who start work prior to regular scheduled start time to do required work for systems release. $2 per hour for lead quality assurance tester. $3 per hour for lead senior software developer.
Paid holidays: 7 days, plus Christmas shutdown (Dec. 24 to Jan. 1), plus Heritage Day and 2 personal paid holidays and employee’s birthday.
Vacations with pay: Pro-rated to start (1 to 10 days), 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 13 years, 6 weeks after 24 years, 7 weeks after 35 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular scheduled hours. Double time for all work on Sundays. Time may be banked, maximum 5 days, and will be paid out if not taken. All unused banked overtime must be paid out upon transfer to new department.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan and Green Shield Health Care Plan for Semi-Private Hospital.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Green Shield Dental Plan 28, maximum coverage $4,314 per year. $3250 lifetime maximum for orthodontic care.
Vision: $450 every 24 months (previously $300 every 24 months). Additional $50 will be paid after 12 months if prescription changes. 1 eye exam every 2 years, if not covered by OHIP.
Paramedical: $750 per year for registered clinical psychologist, social worker, marriage counsellor. $650 per year for registered chiropractor. $600 per year for registered masseur. $200 per year for acupuncturist. $300 per year for licenced. $500 per year, per specialist, for registered podiatrist, osteopath, chiropodist. $250 per benefit year for naturopath.
Sick leave: 20 days per year, after 1 year of service (pro-rated with less than 1 year of service, maximum 20 days).
STD: Coverage of 60% of gross pre-disability income, payable from first day of hospitalization, first day of accident, eighth day of illness.
LTD: Coverage of 60% of pre-disability income (amount will be adjusted annually to reflect any increase in CPI, maximum 3%), after 120 days.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 1 times annual salary.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 1 times annual salary.
Pension: DB plan funded by employer.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse (legal, common-law, same-sex partner), child, stepchild, parent, parent-in-law, stepparent, grandchild, daughter-in-law, son-in-law (exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and vacations). 3 days for death of grandparents, great-grandparents, grandparents of current spouse, brothers, stepbrothers, brothers-in-law, sisters, stepsisters, sisters-in-law. Day of funeral for death of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews of employee or employee’s spouse. 1 day unpaid for employee to attend funeral for friend or other person not covered in collective agreement or Employment Standards Act (leave will be allowed 3 times in term of agreement). Employees will be entitled unpaid time to attend only funeral service of coworker, coworker’s spouse or child (limited by departmental staffing requirements).
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for layoffs; 24 months or period equal to seniority at date last worked, whichever is greater, if employee is not called upon to work.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 475 hours of work within any period of 12 consecutive months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees working in areas with machinery or who operate machines will be provided with protective hearing equipment, protective eyewear if required.
