Shift premium: $3 per hour compensation for hours worked for employee who is designated to perform duties of job outside scope of bargaining unit for 1 day or longer. $30 for each overnight stay, when private arrangements are made by employee, when employee is away from regular home while travelling on employer business. $15 if required to work later than 9 p.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 Christmas floater day, plus 1 additional floater day (floater day not taken will be paid out by last day of February of each year).
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month or 15 days to start, 1 2/3 days per month or 20 days after 1 year, 1.875 days per month or 22.5 days after 6 years, 2 1/12 days per month or 25 days after 9 years, 2.5 days per month or 30 days after 14 years. Employees will be given 1-time additional 5 days of vacation upon reaching 20, 25, 30 years of service. Vacation credits may be carried forward to additional year.
Overtime: Paid at double time. May be banked, maximum 70 hours. Maximum 35 hours may be carried forward to following year. Employee will receive payment of unused hours by last day of February of each year.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employer will pay 100% of health or fitness club, sport or recreation facility membership or fees; purchase of sport or recreation equipment (excluding casual wear); smoking cessation; professional development and related fees; weight-loss program fees, maximum $1,750 per year (previously $1,600 per year).
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 100% for basic; 80% for extensive dentistry; 50% for orthodontics ($2,500 lifetime maximum per family member for orthodontics).
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $250 every 2 years for lenses, frames, contact lenses.
Sick leave: 2 days per month for each full month of employment, maximum 180 days (credits will not accrue during health-related absences from workplace, layoffs, leaves of absence, including deferred salary leave, longer than 1 month).
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% of earnings, maximum $7,500 per month.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual earnings or $50,000, whichever is greater.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual earnings or $50,000, whichever is greater.
Pension: Employer will contribute 13.5% to Operating Engineers Local 955 Pension Trust Fund.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse (including common-law spouse), parent, child, brother, sister, fiancé, mother-in-law, father-in-law, guardian, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, grandchild, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, uncle-in-law, aunt-in-law (all will include family relationships prefixed with word step)). Employer may provide time off with pay for death of another relative, friend. 2 additional days if travel greater than 320 kilometres 1 way from employee’s residence is necessary to attend funeral; 4 additional days if international travel is necessary.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff.
Probationary period: 6 months (for approved absences from work longer than 3 days, period will be automatically extended for length of absence).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years after occurrence resulting in discipline.
Severance: 3 weeks’ salary (or prorated portion) for each year of service at current rate of pay, after 1 year of service.
Mileage: $0.58 per kilometre, plus additional $0.05¢ per kilometre per passenger when carrying passengers, for all employer business kilometres driven. Employer will pay deductible for replacement of windshields and windows, or replacement cost of windshield and windows or windshield and window repair, maximum $800 per year (reimbursement is only applicable when damage is incurred while vehicle was used for employer business).

Personal leave: 4 days per year with no carry-over or payment after year ends. Hearing aids: $2,000 every 3 years for purchase, repair, replacement of hearing aids for each family member. Meal allowance: $52 per day ($12 for breakfast; $15 for lunch; $25 for dinner) when on employer’s business.
