Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 4, 2018, to Jan. 3, 2022. Signed on Nov. 28, 2017.

Wage adjustments:

Effective January 2020: Increase of $0.01 per hour worked for each rise of 0.062 points in Consumer Price Index (2002=100) or decrease of $0.01 per hour worked for each drop of 0.062 points in Consumer Price Index.

Shift premium: $1.10 per hour (previously $1 per hour) for all hours worked on second shift (4 p.m. to midnight). $2 per hour (previously $1.70 per hour) for all hours worked on shift (midnight to 8 a.m.). $1.10 or $2 per hour for employees on permanent afternoon or night shift. $1.03 per hour (previously $0.90 per hour) for employees permanently on continually rotating shifts. $0.15 per hour for tradesmen’s helper general help. $0.03 for working in warehouse for barrel-inspector stacker. $2.25 distillery-process operator shift-leader premium.

Paid holidays: 11 days, plus day before Christmas.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 12 years, 5 weeks after 20 years. Employees will be off work during Christmas, Easter shutdown periods.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Double time after 8 hours of work on Saturday. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday or on scheduled day off. Double time for all work on Sunday. Effective July 1, 2019, employees will not be required to work more than 8 hours of overtime per week.

Meal allowance: $10 for employees who continuously work 11 or more hours. Additional $10 if employee work continuously 15 or more hours.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for employee, dependant coverage under OHIP and Green Shield semi-private plan.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Green Shield vision-care plan ($270 reimbursement). Benefit may be applied towards costs of laser eye surgery.

Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $60,000.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $75,000.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child. 3 days for death of father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, grandparents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, husband, wife, common-law spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandchild. 1 day to attend funeral of stepbrothers, stepsisters, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: 2 years to start; 4 years after 2 years of service; 5 years after 10 years of service.

Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half; double time for Sunday or holiday.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.

Severance: 2 weeks of regular non-overtime pay per year of seniority, maximum 52 weeks of pay.

Safety shoes: $195 (previously $185) for safety-toe shoes.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 3 trousers/shorts (or combination thereof); 2 cargo pants; 3 shirts (any combination of shirts or company designated T-shirts). 1 additional company-designated T-shirt or shirt for maintenance employees. Replacement of uniforms will be undertaken on annual basis. Employer will provide certain safety equipment, clothing to employees to protect from personal injury, such as hairnets, hard hats, gloves. To prevent face, eye injuries from welding or handling acids or caustics, face-shields and prescription safety spectacles will be provided. Air masks, safety harnesses for working in confined spaces will be provided. Employer will provide safety clothing for welding and for handling of acids and caustics. Employer will provide rubber boots to employees in manufacturing department. Winter coats, spring nylon jackets will be issued to each employee in grain elevator and to plant-maintenance tradesmen. Coveralls or smocks will be provided to employees to protect personal clothing when working at dirty assignments.

Mileage: $0.41 per kilometre for all authorized kilometres voluntarily driven by employee in own automobile on employer’s business, not including transportation to and from work.

Editor’s notes: Pagers: Employer will provide (including maintenance of) 4 pagers to union. Employer will provide $1,200 per year (previously $600 per year) for associated wireless service charges to union. Training fund: Employer will pay $0.03 per compensated straight-time hour per employee to trust fund established by union. Hearing aids: $850 in any 36-month period.
