Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to June 7, 2021. Ratified in June 2020. Signed on June 23, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective April 1, 2020: 1%
Effective April 1, 2021: 1%
Shift premium: $2.80 per hour for each hour worked between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Premium for all hours worked on fourth consecutive and subsequent weekends until weekend is scheduled off. $2.25 per hour for each hour worked on evening shift. $2.65 for each hour worked on night shift.
Paid holidays: 12 days. Employee will receive at least 5 consecutive days off over Christmas: Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 26 or New Year’s, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 3 weeks after 1 years, 4 weeks after 3 years, 5 weeks after 11 years, 7 weeks after 25 years. Employees will receive at least 5 consecutive days off over either Christmas or New Year’s.
Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked beyond 9.375 in 24-hour period or 75 hours in 2-week period, for nurses on 10-hour tours. Time and one-half for work on scheduled day off.
Meal allowance: Hot meal or $6 if employer is unable to provide hot meal for nurse who works second consecutive full tour; one-half hour paid meal period and hot meal or $6 if employer is unable to provide hot meal for other nurses required to work more than 2 hours of overtime on same day they have worked full tour.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan, Liberty Health Semi-Private Plan (which is comparable to Blue Cross Plan).
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $450 every 24 months with ability to use coverage for laser surgery). 1 eye exam per insured person every 24 months.
Paramedical: Maximum $400 per insured person per year for chiropractic, massage therapy, physiotherapy for each service. Coverage for mental health services by psychologist, registered psychotherapist, social workers for total of $800 per year.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month of service, maximum of 138 days. Employee who leaves employer for any reason after 5 years of employment will be entitled to refund of 25% accumulated credits, maximum 36 days; employee who leaves employer for any reason after 10 years of employment, will be entitled to refund of 50% of accumulated credits, maximum 45 days (for Church site).
LTD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (brother, sister, spouse, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, grandparent of spouse, grandchild). 1 day to attend funeral of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew.
Seniority – recall rights: 36 calendar months for layoffs; 18 months for pregnancy or parental leave.
Probationary period: 70 tours worked from date of last hire (525 hours of work for nurses whose regular hours of work are other than standard workday).
