Renewal agreement: Effective March 6, 2022 to March 5, 2025. Signed on March 2, 2022.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for all awake overnight hours (11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday to Friday; 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday, Sunday, statutory holidays). $0.25 per hour inconvenience premium for all awake hours worked in shift where employer requires employee to change support home location after start of employee’s shift. $0.50 per hour for all non-sleep hours worked at support home location 12.
Paid holidays: 10 days including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 264 hours per month for employees working 24-hour shift; time and one-half for work after 12 hours per day or 264 hours per month, whichever is greater, for employees working shifts less than 24 hours.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law, same-sex partner, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, brother, sister, stepbrother, sister, brother, sister-in-law, son, daughter, stepchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law). 5 days for death of grandparent, grandchild. 3 days for death of other relatives. First 3 days are paid, rest are unpaid. Employer will provide additional unpaid travel days as are necessary to attend funeral if employee is required to travel.
Seniority – recall rights: 3 months for employee temporarily filling out-of-scope position; 26 weeks after layoffs.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for reprimands and suspensions.

Editor’s notes: Training/employment checks: Employees are required to take and attend all training or workshops required by employer (all training and workshops will be paid for by employer). Employer will reimburse employees for cost of all checks required to be produced prior to hire. Out-of-province work assignment: Employer will provide paid travel and accommodation expenses. $75 per day spending allowance for eligible expenses. $0.25 per hour for all awake hours worked. Training: Employees will be eligible for annual bonus, payable in January, for completing and being up to date on all required training/certifications: $100 for employees with 0 to 3 years of service; $150 for employees with greater than 3 years of service. Paid time off: 24 hours per year for employees who have completed 6 months of service; 32 hours per year for employees who have completed 2 years of service; 40 hours per year for employees who have completed 5 years of service. Paid time off hours will not carry over into following calendar year.
