Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 3, 2020 to Nov. 2, 2024. Signed on May 20, 2021.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Nov. 3, 2020: 2%

Effective Nov. 3, 2021: 2%

Effective Nov. 3, 2022: 2%

Effective Nov. 3, 2023: 2.25%

Shift premium: $1 per hour worked by driver and sorter lead-hands. $0.75 per hour for all hours worked between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. $1.50 per hour worked for spare driver. $1 for all hours worked on Saturday and Sundays (will apply to new postings). $5 per shift for employee working split shift in which scheduled split including unpaid lunch, is more than 2.5 hours.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 0.833 days per month to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Maximum 2 weeks of vacation time may be carried over to end of April in following year if it is not all used by end of calendar year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for worked 40 hours per week and 8 hours per day for sorters; 45 hours per week and 9 hours per day for couriers.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums, after 6 months of service. Employer will pay 100% of employee’s B.C. Medical Services Plan (MSP) premiums.

Vision: Coverage of $300.

Paramedical: Maximum payment $500 per year with each visit compensated at 80%.

STD: Coverage of 66.67% of average weekly earnings, maximum $1,500 weekly for first 15 weeks.

LTD: Coverage of 66.67% of average monthly earnings, maximum $10,000 monthly and begins after 15 weeks or 120 days, whichever comes first.

Life insurance: Coverage of $50,000.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, recognized spouse, same-sex and common-law spouse, child, stepchild, adopted child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, any relative of employee who resides in employee’s household). Extra 2 unpaid days or 2 paid days in event of death of spouse or child

Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after layoffs or for leave of absence if courier’s license is suspended under provincial legislation. 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with employer in position outside bargaining unit.

Probationary period: 60 days worked from date of hiring/engagement by employer.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 6 months for any verbal warning; 18 months for written reprimands.

Severance: 1 week of pay for each year of service. Employee is entitled to receive payment in lump sum and may request that it be deposited directly into RRSP without source deduction.

Safety shoes: $130 (previously $125) once every 12 months.

13+ months: $22.07 rising 2 steps to $23.01

Editor’s notes: Paid education leave: Employer will pay $2,500 per year towards union’s paid educational leave program. Personal days off: All employees who have completed 3 months of continuous employment will be entitled to 3 personal days off with pay each year, which may be used at their discretion. Vehicle inspections: Employer will reimburse brokers for cost of commercial vehicle inspections (maximum $75).
