Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2021. Signed on June 12, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Line-service representatives

Effective year 1: 1.9%

Effective year 2: 1.25%

Effective year 3: 1.5%

Customer-service representatives

Effective year 1: 1.25% (includes retroactivity)

Shift premium: $1.50 per hour for hours assigned to lead-hand responsibilities. $0.75 per hour shift for all hours worked between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays: 8 days, plus Remembrance Day or first Monday in August (employees must advise management by April 1 of choice for current year).

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years.

Overtime: Paid at time and one-half. May be banked, maximum 40 hours in bank at any time. Time bank must be cleared at end of calendar year each year and cannot be carried over. Time and one-half for all work on first day off; double time for all work on second and subsequent days off.

Meal allowance: $12 when less than 24 hours’ notice is provided for overtime and overtime is greater than 4 hours.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Sick leave: 3 days every 12 months.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: All employees who work minimum 24 hours per week will be eligible to participate in group RRSP. Employer will match employee contribution of 3% to start; 4% after 15 years of service.

Bereavement leave: After 3 months of service: 5 days for death of spouse, child; 3 days when another member of employee’s immediate family dies (employee’s spouse or common-law partner; employee’s father and mother and spouse or common-law partner of father or mother; employee’s children and children of employee’s spouse or common-law partner; employee’s grandchildren; employee’s brothers and sisters; grandfather and grandmother of employee; father and mother of spouse or common-law partner of employee; spouse or common-law partner of father and mother). 2 extra days if travel beyond 500 kilometres is required.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after 7 years of service; 12 consecutive months with less than 7 years of service; 18 months for absences due to illness or disability.

Probationary period: 180 calendar days actually worked.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for minor items (not suspension or discharge); 24 months for major items (suspension or discharge).

Safety shoes: $150 every 12 months.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide jackets (1 parka, 1 light jacket); 1 pair of insulated bib coveralls; 4 pairs of pants; 4 long- or short-sleeve shirts; 1 winter work headgear; 1 set of rainwear. Employer will provide PPE: 1 bump cap; safety glasses; hearing protection; fuel-impervious gloves; high-visibility vest. Employer will provide for customer-service representatives: 2 black blazers; 2 white blouses; 2 black pants/shirts.

$600 signing bonus for all employees

Editor’s notes: Training courses: Course fee, required materials and daily-meal allowance of $12 will be paid by employer. All travel, hotel and other actual and reasonable costs will be paid by employer.
