Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 16, 2021 to Sept. 15, 2025. Signed on Sept. 16, 2021.
Wage adjustments:
Effective first year: 3%
Effective second year: 2.25%
Effective third year: 2.25%
Effective fourth year: 2.5%
Shift premium: 5% for each hour worked on afternoon shift. 6% for every employee who works night shift, between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. (maximum 12 hours in 1 shift).
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 7 or 8 or 10 days after 1 year, 10 or 12 or 15 days after 3 years, 14 or 16 or 20 days after 10 years, 17 or 20 or 25 days after 17 years (based on day shift or afternoon shift or continuous 12-hour shift).
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after employees regular day or 80 hours in 2 regular weeks for 12-hour shift employees. Double time after working 3 consecutive hours of overtime. Employees will be allowed to bank overtime, maximum 4 regular shifts (banked time will be taken during Christmas shutdown period).
Vision: $200 per single vision; $265 for bifocals in any 24-month period; $75 every 24 months for eye exams.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, child, grandparent, grandchild, legal guardian, in-laws) and 3 of those days must be taken consecutively. 1 day to attend funeral or service of uncle, aunt, niece, nephew. Additional 1 day may be given, without pay, for unusual circumstances or extended travel.
Seniority – recall rights: Period equivalent to seniority acquired by employee, maximum 12 months, after layoff; 24 months if employee is absent due to accident or illness other than absence resulting from illness or accident covered by Workers’ Compensation Act or if employee is absent due to illness or accident covered by Workers’ Compensation Act; 18 months if employee is transferred by employer to position outside bargaining unit.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of wages at time and one-half.
Probationary period: 480 hours of work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for disciplinary documents.
Severance: 1 weeks’ base pay for each year of service, maximum 26 weeks.
Safety shoes: $250, plus GST, per year (previously $200, plus GST, per year) for protective footwear.
Tool allowance: $375 per year (previously $325 per year) for each journeyman and setup employee, payable in September of each year.

Editor’s notes: Intermittent absences: Employees will receive 3 scheduled days per year for intermittent absences when employee is unable to perform regular duties for any reason. If intermittent days are remaining at end of year, employer will buy back remaining eligible days at time and one-half. On call: Employee will receive 8 hours’ wages at regular rate. Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.02 per hour for all hours worked by employees in bargaining unit into special fund for paid education leave program.
