Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 10, 2017, to Jan. 9, 2020. Signed on Jan. 31, 2017.
Shift premium: If successful applicant is not transferred to new position within 4 months of being awarded position, employer will pay premium equivalent to 20% of employee’s hourly rate for duration of delay. $1 per hour after 1 year of work as lead-hand LMF, first helper, casting lead-hand, casting operator, rod inspection lead-hand, rod inspector. $0.40 per hour (previously $0.35 per hour) for afternoon shift. Effective Jan. 10, 2019: $0.45 per hour. $0.60 per hour (previously $0.55 per hour) for night shift. Effective Jan. 10, 2019: $0.65 per hour. $1.25 per hour for work on Sunday.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 3 weeks or 8% after 8 years, 4 weeks or 10% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 12% after 16 years, 5 weeks or 14% after 28 years.
Overtime: 150% of regular hourly rate for work in excess of regular daily and weekly hours, but not both. 200% for work on holiday or on Sunday.
Meal allowance: $11.50 (previously $10.50) or meal ticket after 2 hours of overtime after termination of work period. Second meal after subsequent 6 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Employee pays 100% for OHIP premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. $3,000 maximum per person per year. Orthodontist, for child only: 50/50 co-insurance, lifetime maximum $2,000.
Vision: $350 once every 2 years.
Paramedical: Osteopaths/naturopaths/chiropractors/ acupuncturists/massotherapists/dieticians: $50 per visit, combined maximum of $1,500 per person per year. 1 X-ray per year, maximum $45.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for 66 2/3% per week of regular earnings, maximum 26 weeks.
LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for $1,400 per month, maximum 10 years.
AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of $55,000 (previously $50,000).
Pension: DB plan for employees hired before Jan. 10, 2006, DC plan for those hired after Jan. 10, 2006.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of father, mother, sister, brother, wife, husband, son, daughter, grandparents, grandchildren, father-in-law, mother-in-law, stepmother, stepfather. 4 days (1 day paid) for death of brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, spouse of parent who is not stepparent.
Seniority – recall rights: 36 months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at regular rate; 150% regular hourly rate or 200% on scheduled holiday or non-scheduled Sunday for all hours worked. Minimum 4 hours or overtime, whichever is greater, when employee is called for meeting on off-day.
Probationary period: 520 regular and overtime (straight-time) working hours.
