Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 30, 2018 to Sept. 30, 2022. Signed on April 16, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Oct. 1, 2018: $1 per hour

Effective Oct. 1, 2019: $1 per hour

Effective Oct. 1, 2020: $1 per hour

Shift premium: $1 per hour for all shifts beginning between 11:59 p.m. and 5:59 a.m. (includes all yard personnel).

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 4 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day; double time after 2 hours of overtime. Time and one-half for all work on sixth day, double time after 8 hours of work. Double time for all work on seventh day.

Medical benefits: Employer will operate Jack Cooper Canada LP1 Health and Welfare Plan, to provide benefits for employees who have completed 90 calendar days of employment. Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.

Dental: 100% reimbursement for basic extractions, fillings, X-rays. 70% reimbursement for major restorative crowns, bridges, dentures. 70% reimbursement for dental implants, maximum $1,500 per year. 50% reimbursement for orthodontia, $2,000 lifetime maximum per patient.

Vision: $250 for glasses coverage every 24 months and 1 eye exam per year.

Paramedical: $350 per year for massage. $350 per year for physiotherapy.

Weekly indemnity: Coverage of $426 per week, beginning on first day of absence from work due to accident, and on fourth day of absence from work during any period of disability, maximum 52 weeks.

LTD: Coverage of $1,200 per month (previously $1,100 per month) after 52 weeks off job.

AD&D: Minimum coverage of $40,000 (previously $30,000).

Life insurance: Minimum coverage of $40,000 (previously $30,000).

Pension: Employer will contribute $2.25 per hour to Teamsters Prairie Provinces Pension Plan (T4P).

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, grandparents, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren). 1 day for death of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months, after employee has 6 months of seniority.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days of employment.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for accidents; 12 months for all other violations.

Safety shoes: $125 per year for drivers, yard, shop employees for safety footwear. Footwear for shop employees will be steel-toed; footwear for yard, driver employees must be steel-toed with defined heel and soles.

Uniforms/clothing: Yard, shop employees will be provided with 5 sets of acid-resistant coveralls to ensure reasonable degree of cleanliness. Drivers will be provided with maximum 2 pairs of new coveralls or 1 pair of insulated coveralls per year if requested. Employer will provide 10 pairs of leather gloves, 4 pairs of rubber gloves with inserts (or any combination) per year.

Tool allowance: Mechanics’ tools will be replaced on exchange basis after being damaged or broken at work. Employer will provide insurance coverage for loss of mechanics’ tools taken from employer’s premises. Premiums will be paid by company and claims paid to mechanic for loss of tools. Coverage will also be provided for loss due to fire. $600 per year for shop employees to upgrade tools.

Mechanic apprentices

First year: 60% of journeyman’s rate

Second year: 70% of journeyman’s rate

Third year: 80% of journeyman’s rate

Drive-away personnel

0 to 12 months: 80% full-time rate

After 12 months to 24 months: 90% full-time rate

After 24 months: full-time rate

Editor’s notes: Medical examinations: When driver is required under motor vehicle regulations to undertake physical examination as condition of continuing to hold valid driver’s license, employer will pay full cost of examination. Employer will provide 2 hours’ pay for drivers taking medical examinations, during non-working hours. Wait time: For all time waiting to load or unload, waiting for equipment to be repaired, waiting for roads to be cleared and where there are public facilities and conditions available (restaurants, coffee shops, motels) to make it possible that driver does not have to remain in equipment, driver will be paid maximum 10 hours’ pay for each 24-hour waiting period. If driver is required to lay over in order to reset log book, driver will be paid 10 hours at regular rate. All drivers will be paid maximum 15 minutes when fuelling at recognized cardlock stop. When required to fuel at company terminal, drivers will be paid $3.54.
