Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026. Signed on April 12, 2023.
Shift premium: Time and one-half until start of meal break when meal break is not taken. Double time for hours worked between midnight and 8 a.m. Double time for stage technicians at next call until 9-hour turnaround period expires, after period of encroachment happens to rest period.
Paid holidays: 15 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, New Year’s Eve (after 6 p.m.), Christmas Eve (after 6 p.m.).
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours per day; double time for all hours worked after 12 hours per day. Time and one-half for all hours worked on Sunday; double time for all hours worked after 8 hours worked on Sunday.
Pension: Employer will contribute 5% in 2023 and 2024; 6% in 2024 and 2025.
Uniforms/clothing: Stage technicians must be neat, clean, dressed in blacks for all performance calls. Employee will provide personal safety equipment such as hard hats, gloves, appropriate footwear and will wear as required.
Tool allowance: Employees will be responsible for providing normal hand tools required for craft.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 5% increase):
Department heads (for all departments except for high rigger, spot light, truck loader, fork lift) shop steward and ground riggers: $37.88 rising 2 steps to $39.80
Crew and truck loaders: $34.67 rising 2 steps to $36.42
High rigger: $44.22 rising 2 steps to $46.46
Spotlights: $35.33 rising 2 steps to $37.12
First called ETCP certified rigger: $46.31 rising 2 steps to $48.65
Editor’s notes: Scheduling: Minimum 4 of hours pay if less than 24 hours of notice is given of call cancellation or cancellation of rehearsal or performance. Where possible, minimum 36 hours of notice will be given.
