Wage adjustments:

Shift premium: Acting pay: When working in a higher job classification, employee is paid for the classification rate.
Paid holidays: 3 days
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 4 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 consecutive hours worked outside of normal hours, double time for all subsequent hours. Minimum 1 hour. May be taken as lieu time.
Meal allowance: $149.70 duty travel per diem. Where travel for part of a day, $24.10 for breakfast, $34.70 for lunch, $73.60 for dinner, $17.30 for incidentals.
Medical benefits: Employee-paid premiums for optional plan.
Dental: Employee-paid premiums for optional plan
Sick leave: 1 ¼ days for each calendar month with 10 days’ pay.
STD: 50/50 split of premium costs.
LTD: 50/50 split of premium costs.
AD&D: 50/50 split of premium costs.
Life insurance: 50/50 split of premium costs. 3 times annual salary.
Pension: 50/50 split of premium costs.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of spouse, child, foster child, parent, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, in-law, aunt, or uncle. Additional 2 days if funeral is outside Kugaaruk.
Seniority – recall rights: 9 months.
Call-in pay: $33.50 per hour on weekdays, $50 per hour on weekends and holidays for standby on off-duty hours. Minimum 4 hours at overtime rate if called in on day of rest or holiday.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 2 weeks for each year of continuous employment to a maximum of 16 weeks.
Safety shoes: Company provides 1 pair of steel-toed safety boots every 2 years.
Uniforms/clothing: Company provides coveralls, gloves, winter-rated outdoor work jacket every 3 years (maximum $350).

Non-journeyman housing maintainer: $24.61 rising 2 steps to $25.85

Editor’s notes: Union orientation: New employees may meet with union representative for 1 hour, for union orientation. Wash-up time: Paid wash-up time, maximum 10 minutes prior to conclusion of shift. Travel time: 2 days' leave with pay per year, to travel between Kugaaruk and another destination, including travel on land or water. Hunting, fishing or harvesting leave: Maximum of 5 days per year, to an employee in order to meet traditional hunting, fishing or harvesting pursuits. Bilingual bonus: $300 per year for employees who can communicate in English and Inuktitut.
