Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026.
Wage adjustments:
Effective March 30, 2025: 2%
Shift premium: Night shift: $3.50 per hour for all hours worked when 50% or more of the scheduled shift falls between the hours of 6 pm and 6 am. Weekend shift: $3 per hour.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: The employer will consider vacations at the times requested, considering business requirements.
Overtime: Time and one half in excess of 44 hours a week.
Medical benefits: Prescription drug plan for employee and family at 80% up to $1,500 per person annually (or the provincial pharmacare cap, if applicable) and 100% thereafter.
Dental: Basic services: 100% up to $2,000 per person annual. Major services: 50% up to $2,000 per person annual. Orthodontic: 50% up to $3,000 lifetime maximum per child under 19.
Paramedical: Massage therapy with a limit of $80/visit.
STD: 60% of weekly basic earnings to a maximum of $700.00 per week. Weekly benefits, payable after the 1st day of accident or hospitalization and the 7th day of illness for a maximum of 26 weeks.
LTD: 60% of earnings to a maximum of $3,000.00 per month, per employee, payable after 26 weeks until age 65.
AD&D: $100,000 per employee under the age of 65; $50,000 per employee from age 65 up to and including age 74.
Life insurance: $100,000 per employee under the age of 65; $50,000 per employee from age 65 up to and including age 74.
Pension: Group RSP & Pension. 2% employer matching contribution, only if employee matches.
Bereavement leave: 3 days leave with pay for death of the employee's spouse, common law spouse, child, step-children, legal dependents, siblings or parents, step parents or legal guardians; or the employee’s spouse’s, child, siblings or parents. 1 day leave with pay for bereavement of the employee's or the employee’s spouse’s grandparents/grandchild.
Probationary period: 90 calendar days.
Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA approved safety boots supplied by the employees. The employer will provide each employee who has been employed a minimum of one year a safety boot allowance up to a maximum of $250 each calendar year.
Uniforms/clothing: The employer will supply safety equipment including but not limited to gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, shields, goggles, fire retardant coveralls, rain gear, particulate masks, breathing apparatus and fall arrest equipment, if and when required. The employer will reimburse the cost of prescription safety eyewear or custom ear protection up to $250.
Tool allowance: All tradesmen will supply their own tools common to their trade. Specialty and power tools will be provided by the employer.
Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):
Foreperson – Carpenter: $43.86, up one step to $44.66.
Lead Hand – Carpenter: $41.86, up one step to $42.66.
Skip Hoist: $24.95, up one step to $25.45.
