Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2020. Ratified on Feb. 10, 2020. Signed on March 3, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2019: 0%

Effective April 1, 2020: 0%

Shift premium: 5% of current salary when employee temporarily substitutes on job with higher pay range and performs duties of higher-level position for minimum 3 consecutive workdays.

Paid holidays: 12 days, plus 1 additional Christmas float holiday.

Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 15 days after 12 months, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 10 years, 30 days after 20 years. Vacation entitlement may be carried over, maximum 1 year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work on regularly scheduled days; double time after 2 hours of overtime. Double time for all work on days of rest. May be taken as time off in lieu within 12 months or will be paid out in cash.

Medical benefits: Employer will provide $800 per year for health benefits spending account to each employee eligible for benefits.

Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums) for coverage of 100% of preventative, basic dental procedures; 50% of major dental procedures. Maximum benefit $3,000 per year per person. 50% coverage for orthodontics, lifetime maximum benefit $3,000 per person.

Vision: Coverage of $250 in any 12-month period for persons younger than 18; in any 24-month period for persons 18 and older. Eye examinations: Maximum $100 in any 12-month period for persons younger than 18; in any 24-month period for persons 18 and older.

Sick leave: 1 day or 7 hours per month to start; maximum 10 workdays or 70 work hours per year after 1 year of service. Any unused casual illness leave — excluding that which was carried forward from previous year — may be carried forward and used in next year. General illness (leave more than 3 days, less than 90 days): No salary for 7 days and 70% salary for next 83 days for illness in first month within first year; 100% salary for first 14 days and 70% salary for next 76 days for illness in first year of employment, following first month; 100% salary for first 21 days and 70% salary for next 69 days for illness in second year; 100% salary for first 35 days and 70% salary for next 55 days for illness in third year; 100% salary for first 49 days and 70% salary for next 41 days for illness in fourth year; 100% salary for first 63 days and 70% salary for next 27 days for illness in fifth year; 100% salary for first 90 days for illness in sixth or subsequent years of employment.

LTD: Coverage of 60% of monthly pre-disability salary, maximum $4,050 per month.

Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums) for coverage of 2.5 times annual salary, maximum $200,000.

Pension: Employer will contribute 7% to RSP, employee will contribute 5%.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (any of following relations of employee, employee’s spouse, benefit partner: parents, (including stepparents, foster-parents), guardian, ward, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son, daughter, stepchild, foster-child, brother, sister, husband or wife of any of above). 1 day for death of relative or person known to employee and not already covered. 2 additional days for travel time when employee must travel 500 kilometres 1-way.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.

Probationary period: 6 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for records of disciplinary action.

Severance: 14 weeks’ pay after 1 year of service; 15 weeks’ after 2 years of service; 16 weeks’ after 3 years of service; 17 weeks’ after 4 years of service; 19 weeks’ after 5 years of service; 22 weeks’ after 6 years of service; 25 weeks’ after 7 years of service; 28 weeks’ after 8 years of service; 31 weeks’ after 9 years of service; 34 weeks’ after 10 years of service; 37 weeks’ after 11 years of service; 40 weeks’ after 12 years of service; 43 weeks’ after 13 years of service.

Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre. $500 per year for business insurance for employee who uses own vehicle on employer business.
