Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on March 18, 2020. Signed on Jan. 1, 2020.
Shift premium: $2 per hour if library is required to open on Sunday. 5% responsibility pay for all hours when employee performs duties or take on higher responsibilities that are not part of regular job description.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days for each month of service to start, 3 weeks or 15 days after 1 year, 4 weeks or 20 days after 9 years, 5 weeks or 25 days after 15 years, 6 weeks or 30 days after 25 years. Maximum carryover of vacation days beyond calendar year will be limited to 5 days.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all overtime hours worked after 8 hours per day or after 40 hours per week when averaged over 4-week period. May be taken as time off in lieu but all banked time off must be used by calendar year-end.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 9 hours per month of service after probationary period ends. Employees may accumulate credits , maximum 90 days.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer, employee contribute matching contributions of 5% of gross wages to group RRSP/TFSA. Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 6% of gross wages. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 7% of gross wages.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse (including common-law), same-sex partner, child, ward, stepchild, adopted or foster-child, father, mother, legal guardian, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, fiancé, fiancée. 2 additional days may be given where distance to be traveled warrants. One-half day for funeral of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. 1 day may be given, without pay, to attend funeral of close friend or relative if notice in writing is given 24 hours in advance. Employee is entitled to maximum 22 hours of paid leave if employee provides proof of being executor
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for continuous layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours. For in-service or staff meetings requiring attendance, minimum will be 2 hours pay or time in lieu.
Probationary period: 3 months of continuous service.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for disciplinary letters and related documents.

Editor’s notes: First-aid training: Employer will provide first aid CPR, AED (automated external defibrillator) training course for all of permanent employees with full pay. Refresher courses will be provided every 3 years of employment. Doctor’s certificate: Employer reserves right to require doctor’s certificate for sick leave. Employer will reimburse employee for cost of certificate. Use of personal vehicle: $5 per trip flat-rate for employees who do short trips in town using personal vehicle on library business.
