Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 19, 2022 to Feb. 18, 2025. Signed on Feb. 22, 2022.

Shift premium: 125% for shift work (start times between noon and 6 a.m.; to be classified as shift work rather than overtime, shifts must be scheduled for at least 3 consecutive work days). 6% of worked earnings for employee who stays in camp, for work purposes, for longer than 5 calendar nights continuously.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half after 8 or 10 hours per day; double time after 12 hours of work per day. Time and one-half for work on Saturday, Sunday or recognized holidays. Double time on Saturday, Sunday or recognized holidays for employees working on work locations north of Lac La Biche, where primary access to site is available via highways 63 and 881.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Sick leave: Maximum 12 days per year.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Employer will contribute 3% to RRSP in first year of service; 5% in second year of service; 7% in fourth year of service for employees hired before Jan. 23, 2021. Employer will contribute 2% to RRSP in first year of service; 4% in third year of service for employees hired after Jan. 23, 2021.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of immediate family member including spouse, child, siblings, grandparents.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours or pay at double time, including all travel time (defined as trip to site or office).

Probationary period: 3 months from date of hire, unless extension is required by employer.

Safety shoes: Employer will supply safety boots, steel toe, CSA class 1.

Uniforms/clothing: For field jobs where special clothing such as winter attire etc.) is required, employer will reimburse, 1-time, 50% of cost of following items: Maximum $125 for winter parka; maximum $75 for CSA-approved class 1 winter boots; maximum $30 for CSA-approved class 1 rubber boots; maximum $75 for CSA-approved class 1 work boots. Employer will supply arc-rated coveralls or arc-rated bib overalls and arc-rated shirt (1 shirt expensed maximum $60 per replacement period); safety glasses and flash glasses; hearing protection; respirator; hard hat; voltage detector/sniffer; test leads; high voltage gloves; fuse puller; appropriate work gloves.

Tool allowance: Employer will supply all power tools, instruments and other tools not on tool list, including appropriate tool boxes for storage of such tools. Employer will provide $30 per month to cover insurance and cost replacement of tools paid retroactively after completion of probation period.

Mileage: $0.61 per kilometre travelled (previously $0.51 per kilometre travelled) each way between edge of free zone (45-kilometre radius free zone from centre of Edmonton or around any place in which employees are temporarily domiciled) and job site.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3.5% increase):

Level 1 new hire: $23.06 rising 1 step to $23.88

Level 2 after 12 months: $26.65 rising 1 step to $27.59

Level 3 after 24 months: $33.31 rising 1 step to $34.49

Level 4 after 36 months: $39.21 rising 1 step to $40.59

Level 5 after 48 months: $43.82 rising 1 step to $45.37

Level 6 after 60 months: $46.70 rising 1 step to $48.35

Editor’s notes: Travel and lodging: On jobs located outside free zone when employees do not return daily to free zone, employer will provide camp or arrange for and provide suitable commercial accommodations and meals; where meal per diem is paid it will be paid at $65 per day worked, including overnight stay (per diem may be adjusted by mutual consent between employer and union). Weekend on-call duty: $50 per day (8 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Monday or 8 a.m. on Tuesday on long weekends), for staff to be prepared for work at all times and remain within reasonable proximity to employer office or home.
