Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2022. Ratified on Jan. 25, 2019. Signed on Jan. 25, 2019.
Shift premium: $0.55 per hour ($0.50 per hour) for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 7a.m. (premium to be continued for hours worked after 7 a.m. when employee was entitled to premium for hours immediately before 7 a.m.).
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Employee with more than 4 weeks of vacation may accumulate those in excess of 3from year-to-year (accumulation for up to 3 years at time).
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time after 13 continuous hours or on Sunday (except where work regularly falls on Sunday).
Meal allowance: Meal will be provided by employer for employee who works more than 1.5 hours after end of regular shift (to be eaten on company time, maximum 20 minutes). Second meal will be provided by employer (to be eaten on company time, maximum 20 minutes) after 13 hours of continuous work. Meal will be provided by employer for employee who works more than 5hours non-scheduled days. $5when meal is not furnished by employer.
Dental: 85% reimbursement for basic services, maximum $1,800 per year. Effective April 1, 2021: $500 orthodontic coverage will be added.
Vision: $250 every 2-year period. $100 every 2 years for eye exams.
Paramedical: $300 per year for massage therapy.
Weekly indemnity: $300 per week for employees whose rate is $10.50 per hour or less; $320 per week for employees whose rate is more than $10.50 per hour; $340 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $11.99 per hour; $355 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $12.39 per hour; $370 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $13.04 per hour; $410 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $14.80 per hour; $430 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $16.62 per hour; $450 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $17.53 per hour; $463 per week for employees whose rate is $18.44 per hour.
LTD: Coverage of 60% of monthly earnings.
Life insurance: Coverage of employee’s annual salary.
Pension: Employer will contribute $0.96 per hour, maximum 2,000 hours per year for each employee, after 6 months of seniority into pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of sister, brother, husband, wife, son, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, mother, mother-in-law, father, father-in-law, stepmother, stepfather, stepsister, stepbrother. 1day for death of spouse’s grandmother, spouse’s grandfather, sister-in-law, brother-in-law.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at job rate or for hours actually worked at overtime rate, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 65 days of employment on plant work, within consecutive 9-month period.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2years (employee must have 80% attendance record in each of 2 years to qualify for amnesty).
Severance: 1 week after 1 year; 2 weeks after 2 years; 4 weeks after 4 years; 5 weeks after 7years; 6 weeks after 8 years; 8 weeks after 10 years; $4,360 after 17 years rising to $13,930 after 40 years.
Safety shoes: $150 per year or $260 (previously $250) every 2 years in year 2 or $275 every 2 years in year 4 of contract for new safety boots (after 6months of seniority).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide free laundry service for work clothes and employer will make necessary repairs to work clothes. Personal protective equipment (new helmet, safety eye-protection, hearing protection, steel-toed rubber boots) will be issued without charge to employees (previously new employees were charged $60 for first set). $30 every 3years for employees (with more than 6 months of seniority) who purchase quilted vest or liner through employer for use on job.
Tool allowance: $200 per year per employee for workers in maintenance or engineering departments.
