Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 24, 2018 to Oct. 31, 2020. Signed on March 19, 2019.
Shift premium: One-half hour pay for all spotting of trailers; picking up trailers at customer locations (time and one-half if picking up trailers at customer locations requires tarping). 3 hours’ pay for any load of 82,000 pounds or more, on super B that must be tarped or untarped, pickup or delivery, for first drop or pickup. 2 hours’ pay for any van load or deck load tarped or untarped, upon pickup or delivery. 2 hours’ pay for any load that is delivered or picked up and does not require tarp work (includes van loads). 2 hours for first drop or pickup of any van load. 1 hour for second and subsequent drops of any load. Additional $0.05 per mile for any miles driven in B.C.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9years, 5 weeks after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all work on designated day or rest or on statutory holiday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for non-occupational coverage of $427 per week, beginning on first day of absence due to accident, eighth day for absence due to sickness, maximum 26weeks.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $20,000 or $10,000.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $20,000.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, mother, father, sons, daughters, stepchildren, sisters, brothers, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandchildren).
Seniority – recall rights: 6months.
Probationary period: 90 days.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide each employee with 1 uniform per year, maximum $250.
Sample rates of per-mile pay (current, after increase):
Single-man operation: $0.37 rising 1 step to $0.38
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase):
Single-man operation: $20.50 rising 1 step to $20.75
City pickup/delivery drivers: $23 rising 1 step to $23.50
Editor’s notes: Medical examinations: After 5 years of service, any employer or government body that requires physical or medical examination for employees will be complied with and employer will pay for all examinations and for any time lost. Cellphones: $50 per month for employees who are allowed to use cellphones. Overnight stays: Employer will supply suitable accommodation to add drivers who rest or layover away from home terminal.
