Wage adjustments:
Effective January 2019: 1.9%
Effective ratification date 2019: 2.5%
Shift premium: $1 per hour for all hours worked before 6a.m. and after 6 p.m.; $1 per hour for all hours worked on Saturday or Sunday (employees working overtime are entitled to premiums, but premiums are not subject to overtime multipliers). $1 per hour lead-hands. $0.75 per hour charge-hands.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 10 days (pro-rated monthly) or 4% to start (all days carryover allowed for following year); 15days or 6% after 1 year (5 days carryover allowed for following year); 20 days or 8% after 5 years (10 days carryover allowed for following year); 25 days or 10% after 10 years (15 days carryover allowed for following year); 30 days or 12% after 15 years (15 days carryover allowed for following year); 35 days or 14% after 20 years (20 days carryover allowed for following year); 40days or 16% after 25 years (20days carryover allowed for following year).
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 7 or 8 hours per day or 35 or 40 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 120hours. All overtime in excess of 40hours will be paid out on March 31 of each year. Double time for overtime worked in excess of 40hours per week on Sunday.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $500 every 2 years (previously $350 every 2 years) for each member of family plan.
Sick leave: 24 days per year at rate of 2 days for every complete month. May be accrued, maximum 120 days.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (son, daughter, current spouse (including common-law spouse), mother, father, sister, brother, stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings, stepgrandchildren, parent of current spouse, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparent of spouse, legal guardian).
Seniority – recall rights: 12months.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ at overtime rates. Employees will be paid from time they leave home to report for duty until time they arrive back home after proceeding directly from work.
Probationary period: 4months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18months.
Safety shoes: $300 per year for field employees if employee has 4 or more months of service.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply 2 pairs of winter coveralls, 2 pairs of regular coveralls for field employees. Items will be replaced every 2years with demonstrated need. Employer will supply all hard hats, safety vests
