Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. Ratified in June 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective May 5, 2019: 2.5%
Effective May 3, 2020: 2.4%
Effective May 2, 2021: 2.4%
Shift premium: $3.50 per hour for work performed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Paid holidays: 10 days. Time off without pay on Remembrance Day will be granted on request to any employee who is war veteran.
Vacations with pay: 4% on each paycheque.
Overtime: Double time for all work performed on Sunday and statutory holidays, except for snow removal, for all employees except watchmen. Double time for all authorized work performed on statutory holiday.
Meal allowance: $55 per day along with reasonable hotel accommodation for employees required to stay away from home overnight (previously $50).
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 2 working days at $250 per day for death of parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, sibling, grandparent.
Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours’ work or pay when called back to work after completing normal shift with no prior notice.
Uniforms/clothing: When employee is required to work under abnormally wet conditions, employer will provide protective clothing as deemed reasonably necessary. Coveralls supplied to mechanics, welders, colas spray persons and hoe ram persons. Gloves supplied to fuel truck drivers, float drivers, welders, mechanics, operators and hoe ram operators.
Tool allowance: $60 per month to all mechanics. Employers will provide all tools utilized by labourers.
