Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2020 to March 4, 2023. Signed on Dec. 8, 2020.
Shift premium: $0.80 per hour (previously $0.75 per hour) to employees working on shift 3. $0.85 per hour (previously $0.80 per hour) to employees working on shift 1. $0.70 per hour above range for job group for lead-hands. $0.25 per hour for routers. $0.50 per hour for heavy-wire drawing operators.
Paid holidays: 10 days plus 3 floating holidays.
Vacations with pay: 0.83 days per month to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 4 weeks or 6% after 11 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years; 12% for those with 30 years of service; 11% for those with 25 years of service. Senior employees, with 5 or more weeks of vacation may elect to waive 1 week of vacation.
Overtime: Time and one-half for time worked beyond regular starting and stopping times (greater than 8 hours per day). Time and one-half for time worked between midnight Friday and midnight of Saturday. Double time for work after 12 hours per day or time worked on Sunday or holiday; time worked after 8 hours on Saturday.
Meal allowance: $10 for employee who is called for work within 2 hours before start of any shift or who works 2 hours or more beyond regular quitting time (unless arrangements had been made for employee on previous working day to work overtime). $10 for employee working double shift.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Coverage of $60,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $60,000.
Pension: DC pension plan. Employer will contribute 4% and will match 50% of employee contribution of maximum 6%.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, stepgrandchildren). 5 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, partner, son, daughter, stepchildren. 1 day for death of grandparent, grandparents-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepbrother, stepsister.
Seniority – recall rights: 20 months or period equal to length of service when such absence began, whichever is less, for employee absent from work for any reason other than leave of absence granted by employer in advance; injury for which employee received WSIB benefits; absent under Employment Standards Act of Ontario for pregnancy, parental or adoption leave. 6 months to start, 12 months after 2 years of seniority, 24 months after 4 years of seniority, for layoffs. 6 months for absence in Fergus plant because of transfer to other plant of company; other employment with company in Fergus plant outside bargaining unit.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at prevailing overtime rates.
Probationary period: 70 days worked (period may be extended by additional 25 days worked).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 15 months for verbal or written notice.
Safety shoes: $240 per contract year (previously $225 per contract year).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 9 pairs of coveralls, and cleaning of coveralls, for each millwright electrician, machinist. PVC operators, production tow motor, service tow motor, warehouse routers, millwrights, electricians, maintenance stores, extrusion lead-hands will receive $130 for hi-vis winter coat every 3 years. Additional $80 for winter pants every 3 years (pants not required to be hi-vis) for production tow motor, service tow motor, maintenance, shipper, hybrid shipper, receiver classifications.
Tool allowance: Employer will reimburse maintenance employees for replacement tools, maximum $350 (previously $345).

Editor’s notes: Prescription safety glasses: Employer will pay maximum $190 (previously $185) for CSA-approved prescription safety lenses and frames, once every 24 months (unless employee’s prescription changes or glasses are damaged in job-related accident).
