Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 1, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2022. Signed on Oct. 1, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Oct. 1, 2019: 2%
Effective Oct. 1, 2020: 2%
Effective Oct. 1, 2021: 2%
Shift premium: $1 per hour to designated blaster for hours worked. $2 per hour when majority of scheduled hours are between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. $1 per hour for designated first aid attendant with industrial first aid level 3.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks of vacation time per year plus 6% of gross earnings as vacation pay.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per workday or 40 hours per week. Double time for work after 12 hours per workday. Time and one-half for work after 10 hours per day for 4X10 shift workers. Time and one-half for work on Saturday and Sunday.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $1.84 per hour to CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.
Paramedical: Coverage of $50 per visit, doctor’s referral required, for massage therapy.
AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute $1.75 per hour for all hours worked by each employee to union-sponsored group RSP.
Probationary period: 3 calendar months.
Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA-approved or trade-approved safety boots supplied by employees.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear CSA-approved hard hats supplied by employer. Employer will supply employees with safety equipment including: gloves, hearing protection, non-prescription safety glasses, shields, goggles, particulate masks, breathing apparatuses, fall-arrest equipment, when required.

Editor’s notes: Standby: 8 hours pay per day at straight-time rate for camp jobs only. (will not accrue towards overtime). Living-out allowance: Lump sum payment of $150 per day (previously $145 per day), plus $55 per day for meals. Safety allowances: Employer will provide safety boot and safety gear allowance of maximum $600 per year on 50% cost-share basis.
