Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2020. Signed on Jan. 1, 2018.

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for stewards. $1 per hour for lead-hands (crane works scope not applicable for lead-hand designation).

Paid holidays:11 days.

Vacations with pay: 4% of each paycheque; 6% after 5 years of service.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $1.67 per hour (previously $1.35 per hour) to CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund after 350 hours worked.

Dental: 100% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year for basic services. 50% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year for major services. 50% coverage, maximum $3,000 lifetime per child younger than 19 for orthodontics.

Vision: $300 every year for dependants younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for all others.

STD: 60% of earnings, maximum $600 per week.

LTD: 60% of earnings, maximum $2,600 per month.

AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.

Pension: Employer will contribute $1 per hour to union-sponsored group RSP.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse (including common-law), children. 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law.

Call-in pay: Employer will compensate employee for all transportation, accommodation costs resulting from call-in.

Probationary period: 3months.

Safety shoes: Employees will wear CSA-approved safety footwear where required, to be provided by employee.

Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear safety hats, safety glasses, quality (rubber) ear plugs, that will be supplied by employer. Employer will provide coveralls for mechanics, welders, servicepersons, maximum 3 pairs per annum.

Tool allowance: Mechanics’ tools will be shipped free on board at employer’s expense from employee’s nearest transportation depot to home base and project site/return. $1 per hour for mechanics, their apprentices who supply own tools.

Editor’s notes: Certification: When new employee is hired to operate specific classification of equipment, employee will receive $1.50 less per hour than stipulated rate until employee is certified (anticipated time frame for certification is 168 hours). Union-management committee: Employer will play $20 flat fee to committee members for each union-management meeting attended outside of regular working hours.
